Re: barett jackson orange county sy

My brother calls me and tells me to hurry up and put on speed channel because a syclone is on the line for auction. I turn it on view a beautiful truck and was throlled to see people bidding on it then all of a sudden BOOM 14k it sold for what a joke.

Cali auction but they said it had mods that kept it from being registered in Cali. Should have sold it somewhere else.

7300 Miles one owner 14k hammer price

Minus the auction fee (8%) $1,120 the seller walks away with $12,880.:tdown::rant:
Plus transporting in to the auction, misc other fees. Must have needed the money pretty bad.

$1,400 "Buyer Premium" and the buyer still gets a great deal.

Not sure what made me more sick, watching a great example of a Syclone sell for $14k or watching an ugly AMF Harley bring about the same money.

They had some random vehicles up for sale as well. I saw a 2003 Super Duty with a lift yesterday. Why would you take that to Barrett Jackson? You could sell that on craigslist and get more for it. They also had a 95 SL500. It sold for about 20k. I just don't see why people would do that instead of selling through normal channels. The VW TDI race car would be something I would expect to see. It brought $150,000 for charity.

I assume that means its not stock. One car doesn't set the value. Collectors usually want 100% stock anyways.

Just watched it on dvr, they said as it rolled of the auction block, consigner stated original and unmolested condition. So why not Cali compliant?

That was discussed before in a thread about why GNs are worth more then SyTys I think. The minority opinions concluded that it would have a negative effect on SyTys.
