Hey guys...just recently purchased a Sy.....been busy replacing and greasing. Had a question regarding the Baer brake upgrades. I have a front end chatter that can only be heard when hitting bumps. When I push the brake pedal the noise stops. I am guessing it is in the front setup with the rotors. I know it is a free float rotor but how do I stop the chatter?!

Baer uses anti rattle hardware in their two piece rotors. Rotors may just need replaced if its really bad.

That could be...I have no clue how long they have been on there. Is it possible the caliper is missing some clips causing looseness? It appears to have 1 "C" clip on the bottom but nothing along the top. it if happens while going over bumps and i can feel it in my brake pedal then it has to be either the caliper or rotor...correct?

If can feel it in the pedal it probably is the caliper. Call or email Baer and get the install instructions and double check what you have vs. whats on the truck as far as install hardware.

I have taken both the right and left side off and it appears the caliper..not the bracket is loose. I then looked at the rotors and the right side rotor is worn down about 1/16 of an inch. It used to be slotted but is not longer. Now I am debating on going back to the original rotor/caliper configuration or attempting to replace the Baer rotors in hopes the calipers are still good. Any ideas?

Well if you want to keep your awesome setup just replace the rotors. If not I'll take your Baers for another truck later down the road and you can have my stock setup I have laying around.

But honestly that brake setup you have cost a lot. So just keep it, replace the rotors and enjoy.

If the rotors are so worn the slots are gone there's your problem.

Thanks for the pointer.....which is the best vendor to locate the 13inch rotors? Should I just go straight to Baer.com?

i phoned baer directly and they disscontiued the the kit, but they have some kits that are old stock and i just got my 13inch baer kit for just over $500. just check and they might still make the rotor you can buy separately

I was researching some options....do I have go to back with a Baer 13in rotor with the calipers I have or could I go back with something equivalent or perhaps something closer to stock?

compare them to 92 corvette rotors, i think thats what the are.go to autozone and start comparing.

The 13" Baer rotors are just 88-96 J55 Corvette 13" Rotors (same goes for the calipers). By 1996 they were a standard feature.

Great information! I did not know that...again I'm a newbie and just trying to feel my way around. Has anyone by chance tried the Baer Decela rotors...it appears I can get the 13in front rotors for about $350.00 and the reviews appears positive.

Alright...I think I've decided. I am going to go with the Baer Decela rotors 13 inch, Hawk Performance Ceramic pads, and keep the original Baer caliper that is currently on the truck. Thoughts before I order?

Alright guys...bringing this thread back. With the current setup I have I have run across a good deal on a set of 4 2007 C6 rotors with minimal wear. From what I have read the stock rotor for the C6 is 12.9 inches in diameter. Is it possible these will fit on my current Baer setup for the 13 inch front rotor?

I doubt it, the rotors with pbr calipers is 1.1" thick (what you have). C5 brakes rotor were 1.25", I am not sure how thick the c6 is but I cant imagine it being thinner. I would just get c4 rotors like I suggested. They shouldnt be anywhere close to $350, I paid something like 90/rotor from GM years ago, aftermarkets should be cheaper than that.
