Autocrossed the Sy this weekend

The Sy perfomed admirably at autocross this Saturday. It's harder to make comparisons compared to drag racing, but I can say I was about 2.5 seconds off the best car in the session and it was running slicks. I was in NESP, which is a street tire class, but I missed the morning session, so the race officials allowed me to compete in the afternoon session with the race tire classes.

I'm learing more and more about the Sy as an autocrosser and there are still some bugs that need to be worked out.

I am seriously considering switching the steering box over to quicker corvette gers for better steering response.

I am without a question going to disconnect the ABS during racing. It causes the car to travel deeper into the corner than I want. Isn't the blue connector the one to disconnect or should I just take out the ABS fuse?

I increased the tire pressure in the front to 45 lbs and the rear to 40 lbs. I noticed the top of the sidewall was showing too much wear when I had the front's at 40.

I increased the stiffness of both the front and rear shocks, but adjusted the rear shocks 3 settings softer than the front.

I'm considering getting the ZR1 wheel and DOT race tire setup for better cornering traction and I don't have to destroy my street tires.

I would love to convert to the PEP setup, but it would take me out of Street Prepared and put me into Prepared or Modified. I really don't know if I care anyway.

My friend video taped my first two runs, so I will put them up where If I can find someone to host it.

Here are my results for the autocross for the Saturday race. Unfortunately my runs didn't count for points as I ran in the afternoon session and I was scheduled for the morning session.

Raw - placed 47th out of 76.

Class - N Street tire. I would have placed 3rd out of 9 entries if the runs counted for points. I will try and protest to get reinstated for points.

PAX - I would have placed 27th overall by formula. My PAX factor is .800 for street tire class NESP

Basically the PAX is a handicap formula similar to a golf handicap.

It's not fair to compare a kart vs. yugo pound for pound, so the formula adjusts the times to keep competition fair.
