Dusted the Ty off last weekend tuned it up and tonight I made 3 passes. I haven't really had the truck back to the track since I cracked the head early last season. I wanted to play with the tune and run less boost than my normal 30psi, which has been my best combination running 10.76@128. So i lowered the boost to 25psi, increased timing to 22* and layed down a best of the night of 10.92@126. My first pass was just a shake down to see if the new head gasket was going to stay in place. That run i went 11.46@117 at 20psi. The 2nd run of the night went ugly as my tps sensor rattled loose and caused all kinds of problems I ended up lifting and scratching my head in the pits for 2 hours. Figured it out by looking at my logs and saw TPS sensor at 70% instead of 100% @WOT. Fixed that ,and made the last run to reclaim the 10s. Felt good to be racing again this winter has been to long. Ive got some plans to make some turbo and intercooler changes. 10.00s are coming soon.

Oh yea I drove it to the track and back !!Yes still a street truck..

Aw...You suck! I was looking for something to do last night. Post up when you are gonna go to the track so people with broken trucks can go see ones that run. Glad to hear you are back running it. Now start preparing for the trip to NATS.

I love the fact you drive it there and back, that is what makes it even cooler!

What are the changes exactly? What is the race weight?

I enjoy watching your Ty, and I have seen you at the track a long time ago before I even owned a Sy. If you don't mind me asking, could you send me a PM with some build details. Are you still running the 700r trans and what turbo do you use. Right now I'm trying to decide on a turbo upgrade and intercooler upgrade myself. Thinking about going with the new billet wheel in a 6765, or next step up with a 67HPQ. The billet wheels seem to be a real nice upgrade for only 100 bucks more. If I could afford it, I would get a 67 GTQ/HPQ in the dual bb instead of a journal.

Franks Truck is very similar to mine but he is running 4L80E trans conversion, STock block, 4 bolt, billet caps, nitrided crank from RPM, Eagle rods, (not sure piston), Vortec Ported heads, Stock manifolds, Stock Intake and throttle body, Big Stuff 3 stand alone unit, 72 trim turbo turbo, with RPM Air to air intercooler and is Intake air temps are off the wall and then he added Alky kit to cool it down.

He needs to make himself a front mount intercooler 25 x 18 or have one made for his truck to really help with the Air intake. That truck should run mid 10's all day with cool intake temps. His truck has good 60 ft time too.

Thanks Ralph, I'm personally looking forward to seeing some SyTys this year at the track. I hope to be ready to run by next spring. I'm going to try out the new billet wheel technology in a 67. There is something incredibly appealing about a 10second SUV aka Typhoon. Keep up the nice work Auto A!

I was going to go to atco last thursday, then again this thursday to make some moderate runs. Damn rain has ruined my chances! I want to log a few runs on pump gas make sure the tune looks good. I have a new build/tune and dying to see what it can do. Should go low 12s on pump and 18psi
