Atco Friday Night T&T

Well its time to make a few more passes. First off for those that haven't been tuned in this past November i freshened up my motor and installed headers with a 76mm turbo plus a larger front mount inter cooler. Went to a track rental and made 3 passes. Had some gremlins and fuel map changes to be made but pulled out the day with a 10.75 at 135mph with 22psi and conservative timing. 60 ft times where all bad. New cam makes way more torque and im lighting up the tires on the launch killing the 60 times. I also think my converter is way loose now with the added power and im seeing nothing less than 5400 rpm down the track bouncing of the rev limiter at the top of every gear. To top it off i broke my diff on my 4th pass and thats all she wrote!!! Haven't touched it until last week, made some shift point changes and reprogrammed the boost controller for less boost on the launch, also slowed the ramp rate on the boost . The mph is there to make a run into the 9s and i still have 8 more psi to throw at it. Im not going to hit it with all the boost just yet, i have to solve the late shifting problem. Plus get a feel for if the converter has to be re stalled lower. Never the less i will be there around 6.30pm if anybody cares to join me. Oh yes im driving it there this time so the rear is nice and warmed up for the beating its going to get.. I will post back some results later.

Good luck!

You say you are going to drive to the track so you will be using street tyres?

Re: Atco Friday Night T&T

Some guys run the tractor supply stuff but I would go right to a John deere store and get the ty6354 part number. This stuff works! I bought 3 gallons and I think it was around 54 bucks. The real nice stuff is called called Hy torque from hydrotex.more money but better properties than the JD,higher boiling points etc.The JD is clear the Hydrotex is red.

Re: Atco Friday Night T&T

Straight, just add qt of type f for color if you want,I put mine in straight, there was enough in my converter etc to give it color,I am going to run mine next week and compare the logs to the dex.

Frank,

Got some big guys from the area heading out to Atco on Sunday. 59 Degrees as a high should be great air.

I will be there filming & taking pictures. Test and Tune right after the junior Dragster final points session.

My tranny guy would have me run Type F as it is much heavier than Dextron and worked good for my trannies.

Of Course all of NJ is dry and it only rains at the race track.

Today just sucked. Rain Dry the track, Race, Rain and then we are done.

Re: Atco Friday Night T&T

For those of you following this thread i must say The John deere Hyguard did lower the stall. In my case 700 rpm. This was amazing. Ive only made one pass on a cold trans so the verdict isnt set in stone. Id like to see how it reacts after being well heated on back to back runs. But first impression it did work in my 4l80e. I will update this thread on my next trip to the track. Thanks for the tip
