Are there any good Missouri syty mechanics?

I'll be moving to Missouri in a week or so to go to medical school in the north east (Kirksville) and would like to drop off my typhoon somewhere in the state or even as far as Chicago with a competent mechanic with syty knowledge. If anyone has had a good experience or knows of a place PLEASE help me out. During the summer it I can bike/walk to school but I'll definitely need my truck by october. Thanks.

There was a guy (Sergio) at Nats that highly recommended "Ivan" from Chicago for anything syty....Ivan used to own a white cloned marlboro syclone a while back and was the owner of the white typhoon in the multiple donut video....Ivan r&r'd and rebuilt Sergios engine with forged internals....I checked Sergios truck out closely and I couldn't tell the motor had even been out before and it ran perfectly....Looks like Ivan paid close attention to detail as there was nothing out of place.....I don't personally know Ivan but I'm sure one of the chicago guys can get you in touch with him.... here's a pic of Sergio's mint condition truck.....photogragh courtesy of smaug's syty shanty....

Any chicago guys know how I can get a hold of Ivan?

Necrowolf: I'd love those phone numbers if you could get them to me.

Thanks guys. I had a Montana mechanic install a built motor for me and it lasted about 1000 miles. I had it cleaned up and put back in by a reputible shop and it still drives horribly.

I live in Springfield Mo. which is down below K.C. and St. Louis by about 3.5-4 hours drive.
I've had little to NO luck finding anything but headscratchers  around here.
It seems only general maintenance of the S-10 portion gets any recognition. But I do all of that stuff.
Its the diognostic stuff thats gonna' force me to get a Data master.
I just can't trust some of these wrenchers. Chips, dings, scratches and loose parts by ALL of them !!

Oh well....knew this going into the buy !
Good Luck and Welcome to Missouri !

I don't know if he is interested in doing any mechanicing, but you can contact Greg Diggs at Southside performance in Carthage, he use to have a Ty and is a very good guy.

I don't know what all he does, but Mike Tate in Springfield would be a good person to talk to.

Great ! I have YET to meet Mike Tate ...but see his green Ty all the time ! There are SO few of us owners around here. I need to get his phone # from someone and chat.

Look forward to meeting ANY Sy/Ty owners around for sure !
