Anybody know what knock sensor this is?????

I pulled the knock sensor from my Ty engine.What I pulled that was definitely a used sensor for a different car.It has the number DR031 1071.
Any body know what its from????

Actually Geoff no it's not. The sensor is in my coat pocket of my Harley jacket and I'm gonna toss it behind me at the next person who cuts me off on my motorcycle!!!;-)

I think the 89 TA Trans Am used a knock sensor too. I have a couple GM part #s somewhere.
I think those numbers are a production/date code system for an OEM GM part. Look at this one:

Yea Im not sure If its for a stock 4.3L, Camaro or a Vette
But it sure has gave me fits over the years. The knock sensor would continually knock even outta gear revving the motor up.So Im dyeing yo figure out what they put in there...

That is the correct knock sensor for a SyTy. 10456031. The "DR 031" is "Delco Remey last-3 of the GM 'long number' ". That sensor was made on March 12th, 1991. So it was probably originally installed on a Syclone engine. This was all discussed previously last year.

It could have been over torqued or perhaps you have some mechanical noise that its picking up. My Syclone's downpipe rests on the frame. If I spin my tires or on down shifts i think my knock sensor picks up the down pipe.

I was going to suggest this as well. Check to make sure nothing is rattling against the block or frame. The exhaust on my blazer is rusting away atm and rattling around. Everytime I hit a pot hole you can hear it rattle against the frame and a few seconds later my CEL comes on. Everytime I pull codes its always the knock sensor error code.

I have been dealing with all that for years. new motor mounts,new trans mount,new rockers changed,the exhaust added a tie down strap.etc,etc etc.The sensor was so tight in there it had to be removed with vise grip and there was no orange stuff on the threads.It was metal to metal. I'm surprised if that was a stock sy sensor. TIA
