Anybody around Chicago

Know where I can get my motor rebuilt? I have the motor almost out of the truck and it needs a rebuild. It had major blow-by and the valve covers had white milky residue all over inside them. It was also blowing oil through the gaskets under the valve covers basically i had puddles on the intake. I was trying to save money and pull the motor myself i just dont have room to rebuild it. So, does anyone know a person/shop around here that could help me?

Also looking for someone who could paint my fenders!

rockford racecraft

No Dice. He quoted $7k for a popular package. Upgrades could be another $7k. I want basic rebuild for the summer and Frame off resto/ motor upgrade next year. No sense doing motor big and then tearing down again in 8 months. I am backing down boost from 26 psi so that should help motor last.:rotf:

What he said. Give my cell a call 630-414-5884 if you have any questions. Andy has done many motors for me always with great results.

Re: Anybody around Chicago

Give Russ a call at LAM engines in Kenosha, He's been good to me.

Do you have any contact info or experience? A friend of ours needs the engine in his Sy rebuilt, and I'm sick of it sitting in my yard.

Call Russ at 262-859-3137, He did my engine with great results. Tell him Dave with the turbo 4.3blazer sent you. He did 4 bolt mains, nitrided crank, boring, and some head work. I bought most of my parts from him, and thought he was very fair on pricing for everything.

My hood, front cladding, and cowl are in my living room. it looks funny.I couldn't remember the number on the other syclone that was up there it slipped my mind the few times I have been there.

nick needs to to put on his website that he knows these trucks now, with all the bad press from other shops (R.R.) he could do really well.

Straightline did my ABS delete, Lash adjustment, tune and transmission cooler.

I am getting anxious to drive that thing again! its been like 2 months haha.

yeah same guys then. There shop was right behind ours. guys that work there are f*ing idiots. There quality was crap when we worked by them. I don't know anyone in the area that took their stuff there.

Re: Anybody around Chicago

Sorry man i wasn't refering to straight line, but p.e.r.

i know man.. p.e.r built my motor in my vette too!!! maybe its because we supplied the parts? i dunno. and i know that straightline deals with randy who is the owner. so maybe that makes a difference. There have been many motors going out of slp that are doing awesome
