I am teh kingpin!
OK, a few weeks ago we talked about how the low turbo coolant light doesn't
function as delivered OEM. I did some research, and installed the
low-coolant module as used in 88 Corvette. The light now functions as
intended. Plus there is a 2 second 'bulb test' on power-up, similar to the
antilock light.
You will need the following:
P/N 22533547 Module 17.00 wholesale
P/N 12117360 Connector Pigtail. 23.00 wholesale
I located it next to the fuel pump relay. I secured it with a tie-wrap to the
FP relay. I made the wire connections in the big harness that goes over the
top of the brake booster. The installation took about an hour, not including
the 'research.' I've done that for you. <grin>
The module and plug pins have letters. Connect as follows:
A Hot with Ign. Splice into the Pnk/Blk wire that goes to the A/C relay
that's next to the FP relay.
B Not Connected
C Ground. There is a splice in the black wire that the 3-wire plug to the
IC pump and sensor goes into. I made this connection here, and
re-taped the splice.
D Not Connected
E&F Cut the green wire on the engine side of the 3-pin connector.
E Is the output to the light. Splice 'E' on the green that goes towards the
engine.
F Is the sensor. Splice 'F' to the green that goes towards the sensor.
The wires on the pigtail are all white. I got the polarity backwards on pin A
& C, and ruined my first module. Double-check the connections before turning
the key on.
Assure proper operation as follows: Turn key to ignition. Low turbo coolant
light should illuminate briefly, and go out. Leave key on. Disconnect sensor,
or 3-pin connector. Light should come on, and boost cutout relay (over
distributor) should click. Reconnect sensor, light should go out.
Easy project, and for 40.00 your low turbo coolant light will actually be
functional. If anyone needs assistance with this, I'll be glad to clarify if
needed. Just let me know.

i just found this again while starting a new project (SMC low alky light going to turn on the low turbo coolant light). good info to have.
