98 Turbo Jimmy Track Test.....

Well we went up to Martin MI for our 10th anivesry to let Heather run the 98 JImmy.

Spec's:

Stock 98 4dr Jimmy with 162,000mi on stock engine (Last 25,000 turbo'd)

Stock Typhoon used Turbo,Downpipe,injectors,exhaust mnflds

Marine intake

Put in 4wd for traction...

She's not raced in the last 2-3yrs... kind of nervice but did good...

First pass with 9psi went:

1.9x 60'
1/8mi (fill in when I get home tonight)
1/4 14.51@91mph
Second pass pushed through the stage beam
2.19 60'
1/8
1/4 14.41@93mph
Third was about the same as above.

There was a 2dr blazer with cold air intake/dual exhaust that went 17.50 at 78mph So that gave me at least somewhat of a base line on what ours might have done stock.

That Trail Blazer SS went 14.30 that night at 97mph.

This is setup for daily driver duty and I've not power tuned it other than getting the AFR's right for WOT.
I'll get it in the 13's before Nats... Not bad for a bunch of parts that were just collecting dust under a bench!:tup:

Nice Scott! I especially the comments on the camera! Cant wait to do this with mine! Looks like next year though. We've had pay freezes and such at work so my projects are back burnered for a bit.
Anyway thanks again for all your documentation, updates, and advice!

What were your 8th mile times? My 98 2door 2wd manual went 9.7's with a few bolt ons. It never came out that hard though. Cool truck.

All passes were in 4x4 mode and 9psi of total boost. 11.2-10.8AFR's.

12 degrees of timing. This thing is set up for survival and daily driver. We didn't change anything before

we went or at the track. There's tons of room to grow here. But it's a zilion times more fun to drive.

I bet this thing would have peg'd 18.0's in the 1/4 at 69mph. Oh.. yea.. it was a real turtle!
