Hello everyone. I just purchased a Ty with 206K miles from the original owner. It was dealer maintained and is in fair shape. It needs a passenger exhaust manifold and possibly new exhaust. I also need passenger front fender cladding. Does anyone know where a newbe could find these parts? Thanks Dave

I'd double check everything on that truck. Congrats on the purchase though

Re: 92 Typhoon 2126

Thanks, are you concerned about high miles or do you know some of it's history? The carfax was clean but the Ty was in your area. The previous owner lives in Thornton CO. Body may have had minor front end damage. This is based on the fenders fitting to tight in front. Everything else looks normal. I plan to leave it mostly stock. I will rebuild the drivetrain over time. Tranny was rebuilt by a good shop 3K miles ago. I will go through the brakes this weekend. I have effectionaltly named it Screach based on the bad brakes. I bought it cheap so I have some room to play. I restore high end muslecars so the work is no preblem.

I don't know the truck, but any time a dealer touches these things, people on here get really concerned. Let me know if you are ever in Denver, I'd like to meet up with you

Pics? Truck Number? Welcome aboard.

That's pretty cool that it's an original owner truck, from the Denver area even. Did you get any paperwork with it? Window sticker, etc.?

Nice to have someone up here representing NoCo with me. Mike (93TyGuy from FC)doesn't seem to get on much any more.

Re: 92 Typhoon 2126

Thanks, I go through Denver all the time and would love to have someone who knows these Ty's take a look. Yes, I got all the paperwork, the window sticker and some extra stock wheels. The Ty was sold new in Georgia. It spent most of its life in Denver area. It needs paint and TLC. I plan to use it to teach my 16 year old daughter to drive. When she has been driving for a while, I will paint it and rebuild the engine. I also have a GN I bought new so I am familiar with GM turbochargers stuff to some degree.

That's cool. All the know-how is in Denver. I just know how to take parts off and put them back on. Which I still have to do. I'm trying to organize a BBQ in the next few weeks. You're welcome to stop by and hang out... if I ever get it going.

Re: 92 Typhoon 2126

That sounds like fun. I would love to see your Typhoon. I make it to Greeley once in a while to walk th wrecking yards. Ihave a few thinks to fix before I use mine. I plan to replace the rotors, calipers, and front brake lines today. Turn the rear drums and shoes this coming week. Then on to tracking down or repairing an exhaust manifold. then some minor issues like new door bushings. As for the experience in Denver, it sounds like you also know lots about these toys.

Thanks, Dave

Re: 92 Typhoon 2126

Yeah TJ know his stuff too. In Denver we have a few chip burners, a awesome tranny builder, a few good tuners, and tons of regular SyTy drivers with enough knowledge to fill pages and pages of threads. We HAD another killer tuner , but he's in China :(

Re: 92 Typhoon 2126

Nats, what, where, when? This summer is extremely busy. I have a car selling at the Mecum auction in Chicago, A 1970 Nova. I have a 68 Camaro SS396350HP going in for rotisserie paint. I plan to go to the Nova Nationals if the car does not sell. I may attend the Supercar Reunion in September back in St. Louis. I plan to tinker with the Ty between now and May when things get really busy.
