Well, just pulled 1,3,5 plugs since that is where the knocking was coming from after my retarded 25.5 psi of boost spike. Plug 3 and 5 both smelled gassy, so i pulled my dip-stick and smelled the oil... smells like gas.
Well, after about a month of worrying, Jim and I pulled the drivers side valve cover and decided to tighten my aftermarket rocker arms a 1/4 turn and see if that did away with the ticking/chattering noise...
Right before we put the valve cover on we noticed a silver dent inside the valve cover... one of the rocker-arms' bolts was just barely rubbing/knocking on the inside of the valve cover... we punched a small dent to help with clearance and that seemed to solve the problem.
Compression checked out ok... around 150. Haven't taken her out yet, but will soon.
i had my boost controler go bad and had a boost spike of over 25 psi then a big pop after pulling the motor found 1 rod broken into 1000 pieces and the other 5 bent and twisted. this was on a stock motor . hop you have better luck then i did
When i bought my first Sy it overboosted up to 30 psi(fuel cut off)
Two broken ring lands but the rods where fine
These were my first days with the sy and i said "thats power man" .....offcourse i didnt know it was overboosting with the stock boost gage
