OK GUYS! Here we go! The first annual MN Sy/Ty Shindig will be held at Valley View Park in Bloomington, MN. As previously mentioned, the date is Sat Sept 20th, rain date of Sat Sept 27th. I'm thinkin we can all meet at Noon or so. There are BBQ's there, Dan will also be bringing an extra one. This facility is perfect, has shade, big parking lots, bathrooms, baseball fields, horseshoe pits, bochie ball pits, and even a water park and playground for those of you bringing kids.

You will need to bring your own food/beverage. You may also want to bring chairs, there are some benches at the park but not close to the parking lot.

Schedule of events is as follows. Hang out, BBQ some lunch, check out everyone's truck, meet new poeple, and whatever else we can think of. We may try to do some activities or events like they do at Nats, but this is still in the works. If you have any ideas, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! Also, we'd like to try to get the group to go up to Midway that night. Porky's would be sweet with 20 Sy/Ty's in there, but, the only way we could get a large number of trucks in their lot would be to get there by 6 or 7pm, then we have to sit around for 4 hours till all the crusing gets good, so not sure on this yet. Again, if anyone has any ideas, PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP. We have also discussed getting a group of people to go to the track on Sun. Anyone interested?

Here are directions:

From 35W.

Exit on the 90th St exit. Go east 1.0 miles. You'll come to the intersection of 90th and Nicollet Ave. Take a right(south) on Nicollet, go one block, take first left on to E. 91st St. As you turn left onto 91st, we'll be on the left hand side, about 1-2 blocks down. Look for the trucks.

From 494.

Exit on the Nicollet Ave exit and go south about 1.4 miles. You'll come to the intersection of Nicollet and 90th. Go straight through the light 1 block and take your first left on to E. 91st St. As you turn left onto 91st, we'll be on the left hand side, about 1-2 blocks down. Look for the trucks.

Dan and myself will be there earlier, so you can look for our 2 Syclones. If you like, PM me and I'll give you my cell phone number incase you get lost, but it is REALLY easy to find.

If anyone has any ideas, questions, or suggestions, please feel free to let me know. Thanks.

Dammit Anthony, it says details coming soon! Why do you gotta rush everything! J/K Yeah, The location will actually be decided tomorrow. We're hoping for some sort of park, large parking lot, on a lake, in the metro. Bloomington has a very good park/rec dept so they have lots of nice parks. I would expect it will be there somewhere. I'll post as soon as I have a location set in stone.

By the way, Mall of America would be M.O.A. not M.O.M. Did you ride the short bus when you were younger?

HEY LOOK, YOU ACTUALLY GOT ANTHONY TO POST ON THE BOARD. LETS DO SOMETHING TOTALLY CRAZY AND ACTUALLY GO TO A TRACK, THAT WOULD BE REALLY REALLY NEAT. WE COULD EVEN MAKE A PASS OR TWO WHILE WE ARE THERE, THAT'D BE EVEN NEATER. NOW LETS REALLY TRY THIS TIME, LAST TIME OUT IT WAS JUST US THREE CITY (RENIVILLE) SLICKERS AND THE TWO FARMERS.

It's surprising how much time one has to waste bandwidth when one does not have a job. Hey, write me up for a mortgage on my place, I got about $1,000 equity into it now

Do you mean RACE at a RACETRACK? With more than 2 trucks? I don't think that's possible. I think the MN trucks may be more of the picnicking kind. Once I get the valve covers for the NON-10 sec. Ty, I will gladly blow it up on the track. Just keep the trailer handy...

A

Its first come first serve, so you better blow up before me. Mines going to last forever now, LOL. I set the boost and timing at 16/16, with the alky, real street tires, and the mild tune I'm planning on keeping it running for at least a week.

It was an 11.10 @ 122, that was with 17/17, the et & mph might be off a bit because the tires are 225/50/16's which will throw off the calculations in datamaster some. The truck does like the shorter tire, but I'm not sure how far datamasters off.

Ok, have it your way then, lets talk about the party. Don't wanta let the cat out of the bag, but MARK C asked if I would allow a few male strippers for him and a few other syty questionables.

Well, I figured since you spend all your money on them, mabey you could get your boys to give us a deal, like you cash in some of you frequent stripper miles, or something. You have the connections, I don't, I'm not a regular like you.

Anyway, back to the Shindig......

Anyone got any ideas for events?

Sorry Dude, but Sunni can't come BECAUSE MARK C DON'T SHARE. Maybe if I get MARK C his own personal dancer, he'll let Sunni hangout with us. I'll get back to ya, but it doesn't look good.

Maybe we can have Sy/Ty Hollywood squares, and Cracker-boy can
be that Paul Lynde/Bruce Vilanche guy. Sunni can be the center square.

Did anybody check to see if that park had garbage cans? Metal barrels
would probably work better, there's less chassis flex when they hit the
concrete.

Dig
'91 Sy 00689 <- a strong 6-second truck.

We'll have to get some BIG trash cans if we want Bruce Vilanche to participate. I've got an empty 1000 gallon propane tank that will roll pretty well after a few modifications. We won't be too far from Buck Hill if we really want to make it a competition...

Anthony
'92 Ty 00242 <- a strong 5.9-second truck.

OOoooo- if you could leave the propane in it, that'd really add to the
degree of difficulty. If you sign up before August 30th, Suburban gives
you 300 gallons of free propane. And, best of all, it's an anti-detonant.

Dig
'91 Land-Speed-Record Syclone
20G- it's not just a compressor wheel, it's also the force applied.

How bout, we have a contest to see who can wash my truck the fastest. Each contestant will just race the clock, I'll get about 15 car washes for free.

If we had a tranny changing contest, I'd smoke everyone. I've had tons of prectice this summer.

SYCOTIC
Yeah, they have garbage cans, so MC will be bringing his helmet and providing the entertainment. Mark, where are ya on posting some of the info we figured out? Anyone coming to the meet, I will be giving away a free bed liner from a chevy short box if anyone is interested. It's the Duramax plastic pre-formed one, only used a tiny bit and in mint condition. BTW Mark, the place was only 1/4 to half full on Sat so we should be in the clear. As for the pool, I think it closes right after Labor day. If anyone wants to play a game of baseball, there are some fields there to use as well.

Mark, I would appreciate it you'd stay on topic. BTW: I talk to your boys today, there sending an extra stud.. Back to the shindig, lets do this at a track, I think everyone would enjoy it even if the're not racing. We could all watch Big A lay down some 10.50's.
