is there a way to get them steady and wich setting should i changes to get a steady boost, i got the manual but it sounds like abracadabra to me. can somebody help me out or post the setting they have on their external wastegate?

Mess with the gain knob, that controls boost flutter. Low sets your boost up to about 18psi, high level let's you turn it up past 18. Gain also control how much the WG opens and controls how fast the boost comes in believe

Also make sure you have the small rocker switches on the back set correrctly for your application

Here is the rule I use. If you turn the knob, it goes to set. Lets say you turn that number 100 and you end up with 19 lbs of boost. Now you want to push the mode button twice until it says set gain, then turn the knob from about 90 to 95. If you go higher than 5 increments away, you should flutter or overboost. Now pushing mode to the gain setting does indeed control how fast boost comes on. You always want to start at 1 and work your way up. Once you get the hang of it there isn't a better boost controller out there. I know people have good luck with the manual ones but the greddy lets you do everything in the cab which makes 1000x better IMO.

^x2. Once I learned how to use mine I love it now! Great boost control and easy to access and make changes from the driver seat.

Re: greddy profec spec 2 boostcontroller settings

I'd try bench setting it to know where your settings end up at. You need 12v power supply and a compressor with air control valve and gauges. Guess you could set it while in the truck too. You want to know how many psi your delivering to your boost controller for your different settings so the flow control is handy. Airflow control on the air compressor is what people use to set correct pressure as in painting. Anyway, that's not hard to figure out.
So, after you hook up that air supply to your controller knowing what you got-18psi for instance, you proceed to turn your the knob you want to set this at-low or high. Once you get your indicator light to come on, your are almost there. Next, you turn the gain knob to get more accuracy. Your boost solenoid can help set this because once you get it spot on, it clicks very rapidly. The slower the click the farther you are from your desired setting either way(high or low). Repeat for you other setting at your desired boost level. Once set, you could mark those settings or just know where they are. Disconnect your air supply and hook up the hoses to your truck's parts.
Your high or low settings are like 50lb and a 100lb counter weight on a scale. The purpose of the gain button is to get everything in between. So, if you wanted to measure 55lbs, your use the 50lb counterweight then get the other 5lbs using the gain button.
Hope that explains it in a manner. Which is more familiar.
If not, sorry to confuse you more. LOL. Just trying to help.

Re: greddy profec spec 2 boostcontroller settings

long story short...

I had my car in for MOT, and somehow they plugged of my boostcontroller, so after testing and testing the sy began to run like shit and it didn't make any difference on how the settings were 18psi all the way (15psi spring).
anyway i found out the problem later on and installed a manual one. and fixed the burned wires.
dunno if i'm gonna use it again. the manual works great and rock solid boost.

So what's the reason i should go greddy?

Weather conditions change and boost cannot be adjusted from inside the cab. You'd have to open the hood when adjustment is needed to set it right. Other than that, I don't see a need for more electronic crap in the cab
