ZR5 disc rear

Did a search, but did not come up with much. Will a ZR5 disc rear directly swap into a SyTy ? The width is supposed to be the same, but who knows...Gear ratio doesn't matter.

I have a ZR5 in the driveway. Let me know what measurement you need, and I can go grab it no problem.

Ultimately the ZR5 is just an appearance package, so if a regular 4wd disc rear will fit, so will this.

The ZR2's on the other hand are a whole 'nother animal.

Re: ZR5 disc rear

The only really important thing is width...I want to make sure my stock wheels will still work like stock wheels. :) I am looking at getting one of these because my stock rear housing has a piece broken off where the axle seal goes in (it was like that when I bought the truck) so I want to replace it, and has dics brakes, so I might as well get this and rebuild it with the right gear ratio....

Well, I didn't, lol. Your thread was the only one turned up by searching. Not a lot of actual fact in it though...at least not what i need...what I needed to know if this is in fact a bolt in by people who have actually done the late model 4X4 dics rear swap. They could tell me , yeh, I did it, and it fit fine, or yeh, I did it and it brought my wheels out by a 1/4 " or whatever...Problem is, I am on the other side of the ocean here, and cant just drive down to the boneyard and measure a few rears. :) and I have to ship stuff over too...
Anyhow, so far the consensus is, it should bolt right in and fit like the original rear does. I guess I'll give it a try and report back how it turns out.
