Xylene ethyl benzene

we use stuff called Xylene ethyl benzene for washing our printing presses
can it be used for octane boost mixed with gas
or sprayed with my water injection system ?

I've done some reading that several ounces to a tank full will aid in MPG and vaporizaton.

Depends mostly on what else is in the stuff. If the MSDS lists % of what's in it, that would help.

On paper, xylene and ethylbenzene are both very high octane substances.

Pure xylene has been used by many as an octane booster. In fact, that's what's in some of the cans of octane boost that you can buy.

Vaporization I'd believe, but I'm not sure you'd get the MPG boost. There's such a thing as being too volatile, and there's not a lot of BTU available in the really light stuff.

yes, :lol::lol::lol::lol: Make sure the exhaust isn't close to the paint. They get HOT!!!

I've used Xylene and toulene as octane additives before the alky systems were the rage.
I used a cap of ATF for lube when I added a gallon of Tolulene or Xylene.

Theres some mixtures on the net and alot of what you buy is similar.
