Re: wtb scan tool

The cheapest and best wau to go is to get Datamaster and put it on a laptop. Works great. Sometimes you can find one of the guys here selling a rig.

Do you have a laptop? datamaster can use several of the ALDL interface cables that the circuit diagrams are posted on the internet. If you do your home work, the whold thing could end up being real cheap.

Hope this helps.

Use what youve got. A Grand National has the same ECM as a Sy/Ty,

UM.....I'm 99.9995% sure they are different.

The scan tool might still work, but the ECM's are not the same....However I have seen some crazy bastards get a Sy/Ty ECM to work in a buick, but it was a significant amount of code re-writing.

As for scantools. I'm kinda partial to tunerpro myself. I just don't know of another program that lets you log/edit/flash all in one window.

I am 100% sure they are different

Buick = MAF

Syty = MAP

Big differences.

As far as software a laptop is going to be needed, tunerpro is a free software available. www.tunerpro.net You will still need a cable though.
