no real point to this post. buddy at work just picked up a 90 s10 with a v6 and i was checking it out. i COULDN'T believe the gobs abd gobs of room he had in his engine bay. i know we have alot more stuff than him but it looked so easy to do everything on his motor. plugs and wires were 30 minute job for him.

well thats it for now

Re: wow our engine bays are crowded

A/C delete, including changing heater box
C/C delete
ABS delete
Washer fluid reservoir delete
Battery relocate
Vacuum ball delete
Charcoal canister delete
Horn delete
Windshield wiper motor delete
Radiator overflow delete
Power steering delete ( no thanx )
Mount tranny cooler under the bed
Mount oil filter under the bed, somehow ( haven't quite fingered that one out yet )
Change A2W to A2A
Change air intake setup
Change to a hydraboost setup
Change to electric fan
Change to electric water pump

I've got it all except the hydraboost and A2A, for now! :D

You could swap out the 4.3 for a 3.8, its got to be smaller ;)

You could put the radiator in the bed also :)

You could also fabricate a setup to put the turbo at the back of the truck, i'm gonna pass on that one though but it's there for yah

Get rid of the headlights too. Heck you dont need them. So if I drive by you and throw some mud on your windshield you are screwed.

You aren't ever gonna pass me so I don't have to worry about it, besides I never said I was getting rid of my wipers, just the motor for them. They will be controled by a stick I found in the yard this morning and I will just reach out the window and bump them will my stick. Don't believe me hunh, you just wait and see, I'll show yah

Or I just take them off also and I will have less drag and less weight so you still wont pass me, I'll have to think about this some more.

Maybe someday, we have about 800 miles of open road seperating us right now. If Gary wants a race he can come up here, I went there last time. I'd tell you his truck is faster, but he might hear us talking and get a big ego and then his head wouldn't fit in his truck, so for right now I'd crush his little girlie truck. And mine unfortunatly is missing a key part to the engine bay, but thats a minor detail.

your truck is lighter then mine. Just have quickstorm tow it and you can beat me. What are you doing to it??
Fast or slow, I am just happy it runs.

Re: wow our engine bays are crowded

Wire tuck would also help or improve on the appearance some.

Forced to by choice
Re: wow our engine bays are crowded

30 min wire change.. Thats kinda easy on our trucks if you know your way around the engine bay and have the inner fenders out already. Now, finding a miss due to a wire thats just stripped out of the end of the boot takes a while, lol.

I had bad motor mounts, a exhaust leak, and a small oil leak ( seal on the back of the valve cover ) so I pulled it out real quick to clean it up and fix everything. Ever since I read Hood's post on the lightweight Sy I liked that idea because of how finiky these things can get. If I pull off enough weight I can make a 12 sec pass with a stock motor ( hoping to get to about 3,000 lbs or less )

It runs, for now, :rotf: wooohahaha wooohahaha :rotf:

Re: wow our engine bays are crowded

I am thinking about the ac delete. I hate the heat. anything above 80* is hot for me but I dont use the AC in the sy anyways. ABS delete too. Could the AC go back in if I keep the old ac stuff?
You have to pull the motor to change the mounts??

You don't have to, but if you remember my post earlier about the power wire I tend to over do stuff a little much ;) I does make it way easier though

If I were you I don't know if I would pull the A/C, when I was down there I thought I was gonna die in the heat @ 120* ish. Plus driving from Livermore to San Jose B in bumper to bumper traffic in the blazing heat of the assfault in a black truck with no A/C or water, good times :squint: Yes if you pull the A/C you can put it back, you would just have to have it recharged and probably have to put a new a new drier on if it sits out.
