Would you rebuild your turbo?

I got a rebuild kit off of a member/friend today. It doesn't seem like it would be a complex operation but would you do it? I just want to rebuild it because its leaking oil pretty bad in to the intake. I think it is also responsible for my sticking throttle. Gets scary sometimes. I cleaned the TB when I swapped injectors and there was oil EVERYWHERE. So again, would you tackle this?

My plan is to mark the wheel and install it exactly where it came off to avoid re-balance.

if its a mitsu turbo,my understanding is that they are component balanced and you should be able to just remove the compressor wheel without balance problems. installing the rebuild kit is easy

I just rebuilt my turbo last month. Was making weird noises. The noises went down right after the rebuild and now its silent... hardest part was getting the turbo off. And the compressor snap ring off. Rest is basic tap out and replace.

btw the kit will be there friday , mike make sure to mark all housings so that the alignment isn't off when going back together . talk to ya later .

if you have a High output oil pump you will need to put a restrictor inline otherwise this could be your problem. just my .02
