wont start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

then start with the basics, is your battery dead, easy way to tell is see if the headlights dim when you turn the key or if they even come on for that matter. If the battery is good then take out the starter clean the connections and see if it will spin. if nothing is happening its either one or the other

I'll buy it. First you might try putting it in park. btdt

Seriously though, it sounds like the neutral safety switch, ignition switch, or starter solenoid.

Good luck. Let's get together sometime.

i bought the truck in april, the week i bought it it died, towed to dealership(mistake) new battery and plugs and wires. Then the alt went out, barely got home that time. got all of that stuff fixed it was running good, idling good and i thought i was fine and could actually drive it with out it dying. drove the truck saturday all day with no problems, sat in garage mon and tues tried to start it today and nothing. not giving up easy, just sick of having a 4000 pound paper weight taking up good space. since april i have put less than 2000 miles on this truck and it has died 3 times, no wonder why the guy got rid of it. i love the truck, but i think these trucks dont like to be driven because it seem like all the trucks on this board are broke down half the time. check engine light is on

Fuse Box, lower left corner. No starter is easy to get at. Pass side under the truck where tranny bolts up.

the motor would still turn over if it was the ecm b fuse. From what I gather it is plain dead. turn key, no click, nothing.

Since the lights come on, the battery is working. I think Leroy had some excellent suggestions. Something with the starter, ign switch, nuetral safety switch etc.

If you werent so far away I would come take the paper weight off your hands cheap :)

The switch is under the center console, IIRC.

It's not the ecmb fuse.

The starter isn't too bad to remove. It helps if you take off the torque converter cover. Now that I think of it, the cover is easier to remove with the front propshaft out, so allow some extra time and bandaids.

Yeah, I know Gabe! Gabe is da man! We could all meet and play golf?

Could try to turn it over and have a buddy tap on the starter with a hammer to see if it will start.

when you bang on the starter, do it from beneath the truck, i tried to do it once through the wheel well on my blazer and wound up smashing the seleniod by accident

This is way off the wall, but it could be that the diaphram in the FPR broke and filled the crankcase with fuel, which would hydrostatically lock up the motor.
Pull the plugs and see if fuel comes out.Check the dipstick for fuel also. And read the damn code (If it's a 45 then I'd say your FPR is broke)
