Re: why no ABS?
One thing I didn't see mentioned on here is why the SyTys were the first 4wd S-trucks to have 4 wheel ABS. On my S-15, its RWAL only, and it DISABLES in 4wd by design. Reason being, since its a part time 4wd system, very bad things would happen if one set of wheels was allowed to turn while the other was allowed to lock.
That being said, I'm not sure if the same design applies to the 2nd gen 4x4's. It would only make sense, seeing as it's the same part-time locked system. On newer ones (like the Smart Trak Bravada) I can see how it could electronically disengage the transfer case clutch, but thats not possible (since they don't have it) on the other S-trucks. Just some food for thought.
