Your replies are visible in the for sale ads. Maybe the sellers have been away from the site for a day or two?

I know sometimes, I will check the site for a minute, but don't have time to post a long response.

:stupid:
I emailed a guy in Oct about a part I wanted, didn't hear back for a couple weeks. Then said he was busy, and he'd email me a pic asap. That was over 2 weeks ago. :dunno:

And how about buyers saying they will buy something, then never coming through? I don't know how many times lately I've held something for someone after they told me they'd 100% take it, then I never hear from them again. Even after I contact them again. And I'm not talking about just noobs doing this, I've had some "regulars" with 2000+ posts do this to me. Show a little courtesy and at least make up some lame bs about why you can no longer buy the part ie. dog died, caught neighbor boning your wife, etc. I think that's just common courtesy.

Not every member of this forum is on here 24/7. Pay attention to when the classified was listed and when the last post was. You can also check their user profile to see when they were logged on here last. Sometimes the OP doesn't get any hits on listing right away and it falls down his priority list to keep checking up on it. I doubt there is any malice on their end. Worst comes to worst, move onto another seller....:2cents:

Believe me I understand and I was checking the last time they were online and 2 out of the 3 had been on regularly since I posted. One of them posted in his thread on the truck for sale that he just didnt want to call me back:screwy:

$6k for Ryan's truck is a good price. You offered $1,000 less and asked him to deliver. I don't know how far you are from him, but that could be an additional couple hundred bucks in gas/transport fees, if he has the means to deliver, making your offer even less than the $5K cash. If he's not setup with a tow-rig/trailer, it's even more.

Ball is always in the Sellers court, if he wants to be choosy, he can be.

Shoot, when I sold my Typhoon, I made a deal with a buyer so it would go out of state. I didn't want to see it driving around with it not being mine.

I wouldn't be too worried about it. There are a lot of SyTys for sale right now at really good prices. More than are posted here, though we do catch most of them in the Ebay Auctions/Internet Finds forum.

Glad its not just me

yep, just last month a guy wanted a shipping quote on an item i was selling. then no response, nothing, just left me out to dry. i guess he just wanted to know how much it would cost to ship something. then yesterday someone said they had the parts i needed, send paypal to this account. i responded with another question and this person dropped off the face of the earth. user profile said he was on this morning. good thing i didnt send the money...

I sent him a pm to call me because I was willing to pick it up. How long ago did you sell your typhoon and was it red and silver? I own a modified Typhoon that came from Colorado

its not just this forum, Im parting out a VW Jetta right now, I think idiots must grow on trees on those forums. People PM me for parts, shipping quotes, pics, ect... I'd send them and Id never hear back, not even a "no thanks" or "how about $xx ?"

I was even dealing with one guy about a handful of small parts, to the point that I was sending him pictures via phone and texting him prices and shit. Then he would PM me later on the forum and ask me if the same questions about parts which I already sent pictures of and/or answered. After 3 days of stupidity I told him I was throwing the parts out and for him to keep his money, I was done dealing with him

I also had another guy who was interested in the front bumper, core support and another small part. The core support was the "nice" part I really wanted to sell, so I told him if he gave me my asking price on that I would sell the bumper which had some scratches and a small crack, nothing major, for 35 ****ing dollars including the foam backing and everything that went with it, I just wanted to get rid of it all. We agreed on a price, I even offered to drive 10 miles and meet him part way. Now keep in mind that we were talking since earlier on in the week, Friday night I get a PM saying he needs to meet on Sunday because something came up on Saturday. I didnt get the message until Saturday morning, which was fine, so I replied asking what time he wanted to meet on Sunday.... never heard back from him. He was even active on the forum that Saturday night so its not like he didnt get my reply. I still have no heard anything from him and Im certainly not going to waste my time chasing idiots down to buy parts.

Just makes you wonder if some people still have their shoes marked R and L these days

@bostongsx that is quite a list of cars you have there. You have every one of my dream cars in your sig... Just wanted to mention that.

Re: Why List A Vehicle For Sale If You Don't Want To Sell It?

I have dealt with the same issues with buying/selling....... Everyone has big dreams but usually not the finances to back it up, but what bugs me is if you have something for sale understand people are gonna beat you up on price, ya it sucks but its gonna happen....I can vouch for Herb being a serious no BS buyer he is a long time friend and customer, his tactics might not be acceptable to some sensitive people on here but his money is green and his offers are realistic. If someone on here sells him a truck you WILL not hear from him when the dome light blows out.....sometimes taking a hit over a little bit of money but knowing that someone is not gonna haunt you is well worth it. and with these trucks its nearly impossible to warranty anything on them once they leave your driveway. the truck i just bought and parted out had about 15 pending fires ready to be started if i had not of stripped and sold off everything and discovered all the hidden issues.
