I just notice the date and no major conflicts for me, so I am in.

The Mrs and I have discussed going next year but we dunno for sure yet. Our union contract is up in 08 so I usually start putting cash away a year early just in case it gets ugly as well as the fact Ive usually got the truck in a million pieces about the time the nats rolls around.

Basically is a 50/50 shot right this minute and depends on what kind of large unexpected expenses blind side us before then (you know....little stuff like year before last when I had to install a new septic system or last year when the trans' guts were all over the work bench).

Dave, if you can get somewhere near my driving route, I will give you a ride to the Nats in my Sy. Its in a million pieces right now, but I should have it back together and have all of its bugs work out by Sept.

It'll be a little cramped with you, me and the Mrs :lol: . Theres no way I could get a kitchen pass to go without her...she knows Id end up in the middle of something I shouldnt but thanks for the offer. Even if I tried to sneak it past her she'd kill us both when we got back :lol: .

BTW, has anyone seen my testicles? Last time I saw them was right before I got married :rotf: .

He said he was going, but I didn't know if he was driving or flying though?

I've tried to figure it out and it seems really stupid to drive because it will cost way more to drive the truck or tow it and take take way longer then flying. Depending on the route it is about 30 hours one way and 1,850 miles.

What's point in going if I can't take my truck though?

EDIT:I just did a map quest and I wouldn't even be close to you guys until like half way unless I went straight down and over adding another 10-12 hours to the trip, maybe I will fly :tdown:

1,850 miles / 15 mpg = 123 miles
123 miles x 2 ways = 246 miles
246 miles + cruising = 300 miles
300 miles x $2.75 a gallon = $825 just for fuel

and that's not driving down to meet you guys.

Or fly, be there in like 3-4 hours, get a rental car, beat the piss out it and drag race it and not worry :tup:

BTW a viper is about 600$ a day depending on what city. I rented a 351 saleen for my 10th anniversary. 1200$ for the 3 days but what fun. BTW I took it up to 160 on hwy5.

Still though if you rented it for a day or 2, I mean if you drag race it all day long and do a couple 200 mph runs thats all I'll need

2 days Viper rental $1,200 + Plane ticket $350 - Any miles I have at the time = About $1,300

$1,300 + 4 days in hotel $400 + Any damage the strippers cause to the room = $2,000

$2,000 + Alcohol $300 + Food $50 = $2,350 + Paying bail $1,000 = $3,350

Overall good time and no Sy cladding loss or broken truck to contend with :tup:

Sure I really don't care, but remember if you raise the alcohol total, then unfortunatly the stripper and bail amounts go up accordingly

I'll be there with another MINTY low mileage (but modified) truck the good Lord willing. Only difference from last time I attended is this one not only looks pretty (even better than the 200 mile Sy I brought last year) but it goes fast . How fast.....dunno, but I should know after NATS X!!

after skipping the nationals event for a few years im looking forward to attending. this is a little closer than great bend but its still too far to bring the trucks. me and the rest of the turbotime crew will most likely fly in.
