Which Pin is the output signal for knock?

Does anyone know which Pin # would be the output signal for knock on the ecm/eprom/memcal?

Moates sells a socket with a single wire output that could be customized to tie directly into to the knock signal, which should allow us to use the the cool Casper knock gauge (just a 3 wire hookup) since our ESC module would be in the equation like the ultimate setup (done some research).

Seems fairly simple, do you think this will work?
Dig, Paul, Jeff, Michael?

Knock signal isn't on the EPROM side... it's on the Pin part of the moates board. (ESC side)

If the caspers gauge wants a 0-5 volt signal though, you can probably just solder a wire to the right pin.

Pin 32 on the MEMCAL is the right one, if my fuzzy memory is correct.

Plan B:
You could just get a 4.3 external knock module and the sensor for it, and put it elsewhere on the block.

Dig are you sure it's Pin 32? It would be for a G1 adapter.
Thanks Dig.

I haven't really looked at it that close.
If you can find the old DIY knock LED instructions, that would tell you.

Not the same pinout nomenclature. The directions refer to the esc as if it were a 34 pin device. I was talking about memcal pin 32.

I think we're referring to the same pin, though. Looking at the top, with the prom "up", its the second pin down from the prom on the right hand side.

You should be able to hook the gauge up with a gator clip to the knock line, and test it quick before you put it all in.

I have no clue if the Caspers gauge is buffered internally. I would suspect that it is, but if it isn't, it'll load the line down and potentially cause funny knock behavior in the ECM. Safe method would be to build the circuit at that link.

You could actually play with the circuit, a few resistors and caps, and a 5V led level meter and make a "knock gauge" that pretty closely approximated what the ECM was reporting.

Alternatively, you could run the setup Paul has with the Moates o-meter with code59 feeding it the correct knock info.
