Guys, I was wondering what is the best cam to run in our trucks. My truck has brodix, forged rods, upgrading to a precision 76mm, forged pistons. 4-bolt etc......I do plan on using the trucks as a driver and also a lot of 1/4 mile passes. Thanks for any help.
I asked that same question awhile back. Ended up with a 412 Comp. Very slight lope at idle (almost unnoticeable). Truck is running mid 11's. 415 and 422 are "hotter." Then there's the custom grinds that people here have. Might consider settling on the other parts first then basing the cam selection on that.
Thanks guys. The thing that Im trying to avoid is that my truck right now has way to much cam and I dont think that I want or need that with a turbo vehicle. It literally lopes and shakes like a full out drag car at idle. My truck only pulls about 9-10"'s of vacuum right now. I would like to put the truck in the low 10's high 9's so Im not sure exactly what cam I need but I know it cant be as lopey as the one I currently have. Can someone explain the difference between the cams and what the difference in h.p. gains between them are? Thanks again for all the help.
