Where Does This Hose Go?

I saw a rubber hose hanging down under the truck yesterday so I jacked it up and looked around. It is a long 3 1/2' hose coming from the top rear of the transfer case. Where is it supposed to connect to and what exactly is is supposed to do?

Just a vent. It used to go all the way up to the front and loop up into the engine bay. Looks like it must've been R&R'd.

Thanks for the replies. I was worried for a while there that something important might have been disconnected. :)
