I see Evil twins are still running . .

Myself I have a 98 Bravada with a LQ4 in it still AWD . Its all motor for now but slowly gathering everything to single turbo it . Been driving it over 2 years now since I did the LQ4 swap with no issues at all.

Just swaped in a little boost grind cam other than that its bone stock .

Re: where are the LS swap guys at ??

I have as of tonight successfully got the truck A/C compressor to fit . . it took alot of cutting but far as I know Im the first to actually get the truck compressor in there in a 4wd S series with stock brackets .

I have a turbonetics 72 Q trim turbo from my old old turbo buick Im going to put in it . I know kinda small but this is a daily driver and the 72 is perfect for my application . went low 10's at 136 on the 3.8 on a mild tune at full weight so capable of plenty enough power on my 6 liter

heres a frame shot . Idler arm is in stock location but I lowered the top bolt by re drilling the idler arm. I had the A/C top mounted but need to get it down bottom for room to turbo it

Little late now, but you could have went rack and pinion, dumped the idler arm, and had more room to notch out.

Still looking that route . . have a few racks here Ive played with in a spare frame I have but not found one I really like yet . Ill go that route once I do .

for now Ive replaced everything in the steering and all ball joints and went poly bushings in everything . . made a huge difference . did away with the rag joint in the steering shaft and went with a u joint also.

have a zr2 8.6 rear under it to with no spacers behind the vette wheels and they sit flush with my cladding . . not sure if the sy/ty cladding sticks out the same amount.

I switched out the factory 3.73 gears for 3.42's also . helps me get 21 mpg on the highway plus it didnt need 3.73's its got plenty of torque and much more coming when I boost it

...Glad you like and are enjoying your LS Swap. There are lots of member swap examples going back several years now, so you probably wont be the first for anything related to these vehicles (but most don't bother posting - and each has similar but different "fixes"). :p

Here's my a/c picture with the LS7 AWD:

Re: where are the LS swap guys at ??

Mine is in the works right now. Just picked up my 4L80e tail shaft adapter and accumulating parts but I have the motor(5.3), turbo(BW S480), H&C and most of the bigger stuff. Now I'm just dealing the all of the stuff that nickle and dimes the hell out of you. I'm debating on pulling the frontend, cab and bed off and starting with the frame and building up from there. Should be a fun ride when its done though.

Re: where are the LS swap guys at ??

rotated lower spring pad to move shock mount outside the spring and made upper shock mounts off the outside of the frame rails

Re: where are the LS swap guys at ??

everything front and rear is polly bushings as well now . . you would not believe the difference in stability it made
I run it on a local circle track a few weeks ago and had horrible understeer (front sliding up the track)
that was with the front all rebuilt with polly but the rear as it was in my first pic here
come wednesday if rain holds out Ill be running the circle track again to see how much difference it made
I know driving it on the street and swinging off ramps at the highway its majorly better to drive

videos of me at circle track . first time I ever raced in a circle first one is just time trials second one was my first ever time around racing someone else . I set him out 5 lenths and caught him then p[aced him around to the last turn then pulled him out for the win

Wow - nice! People have been trying these on and off for a while! Any more details you can share? How did you make sure the alignment of the rack was ok?

First off, it seems like there is a lot of love going into that Bravada so please keep the pictures coming.

Secondly, Sparkwire's set up looks amazing. I really hope I can get to that level of craftsmanship someday.
