Wheel advice/confirmation

So after doing some research on this I just wanted someone to verify that what I've come up with is correct?

Discount Tires screwed up one of my wheels (on the G8) while fixing a flat, and are doing what they can to make it right. They got me a new wheel, but I'm also going to hit them with working me a deal on either a new set of tires for the Sy stockers, or a wheel/tire set... So just want to make sure my numbers are right if I have to order something there?

Looking at 17x9.5", 54mm on all the fours.

I've come up with them bolting right up on the fronts, and will stick out just a hair over stock? On the rears I'd need a spacer of at least 22mm (.87 inches) to put me where stock was? Or am I way off? Thanks for any help!

Re: Wheel advice/confirmation

thats my calculations, exact. tire/wheel calculator works eh? ;) i would go to a 1" spacer in the rear to match the fronts more closely though.

Yes it absolutely does...and thank you! I was thinking the same thing going with a 1" spacer. Thank you sir for confirming my thoughts.

So It is reccomended to go with 17x9.5 or 18x10 front/back.

I was ust recently looking into this my self and was told i want either a 17 or 18 all the way around. or lack or better words the same sizes.

I wasnt even sure becasue i was just looking at a set of corvette wheels.

I think at that point it comes down to personal preference. Enough people run a 17x9.5 - 18x10.5 combo on their trucks, and you can find tires with a close enough diameter not to do any damage. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the 17-18 stagger, which is why I'll most likely be going with 17's all the way around (when the time comes).

Absolutely! That's what they get for scratching my wheel. :bad-word:

And the final deal was I got them to give me a set of tires for the stockers, and they're reimbursing me for a new (used) wheel that I told them I could buy online on my own. Overall I'm not upset about it as I still come out way ahead on the deal.
