What's the best HID Headlight for our truck?

I still have the factory original headlights in my Ty, and now that I've replaced the factory foglights with the Blazer replacements, I'm wanting to "modernize" my headlights as well. Is there a common replacement that won't break my wallet??? Are there any other considerations I should take into account besides money???

if you want the fake me out HID's, i heard and seen that it doesnt light up the road as much. i guess it depends which brand you get. my friend and i put the real HID's in his accord (they were $700) and i lined them up next to my mercedes and you cant tell the difference, they are both blinding. they are badass.

are these any good?

I see them on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=599744521&r=0&t=0 all the time, and no-one ever bids on them. I really want that updated, HID discharge look, but like I said...don't wanna go broke doing it! (i.e. roughly 60 bucks)

go to http://www.prostreetlighting.com i have a set in my ty and they were only $37.00 they have the blue tint. very bright.

If you want the real thing, you have to pay the real money. Those are not HID. The blue bulbs are a joke. A low buck alterative are Hella or Cibie E-Codes with higher wattage H4's. (About $100.) Be prepared for connector melting issues with the 90/130 w bulbs though. The stock wiring is not made to support that kind of current.

i have the Hella/Osram 7000k High Beam / Low Beam HIDs for my syclone. Around $600.00 for my kit. i personally was fed up with cheap bulbs that look horrible at night, and that every ricer has on his honda. HIDs and go broke, you have to. those bulbs dont look a thing like real HIDs and just melt shit, and eat power.

the way i look at it, racing at night. HIDs 35watts, stupid superwhite bulbs 90watts. eats less watts, i go faster :smile:

What about the Composite Headlamps on http://www.sytyarchives.com/howto/head_lights.php? Anybody know how much these run? ...and, whether they have any connector melting issues?

what do you think the picture you posted below was. that is a composite headlight. the headlight wont melt anything. just put a reg. h4 bulb in it. not a 90/100 watt superwhite in it. or upgrade the headlight wiring kit, then you will be fine.

If you want true HID not simulated hid sylvania makes them under their Xenarc line they arent cheap but maybe we can get a g.p. going their website is http://www.sylvania.com we need the x6054 kit Ken

Truer words were never spoken. The above statement is one of my main mottos I keep in mind all my life. (Actually I say "Nothing compares to The Real Thing")

But if anyone wants the blue ricer look, I can sell some bottles of blue paint to use on your existing bulbs in order to recreate the same bulbs commonly sold in auto stores as cheap HID imitations.. (I'm being sarcastic)
