What's it worth?

I'm trying to sale the Sy, but I don't even know where to start or how much it's worth or anything. I'm pretty new to these trucks...so forgive the question. It's got some problems, and that's what throwing me even more on how much it's worth. I'm pretty sure it's got a spun bearing cause there's a knock in the bottom end...and I'm pretty sure it's got a blown head gasket. No datalogging:( I have 90% of the cladding, but it's not on the truck, and I do have the original wheels. I've had a guy offer me $2000 for it as it sits...and I wanna get an idea of what some of the veterans think it's worth. I don't wanna rip this guy off, but I don't wanna get screwed either ya know. Any ideas?

whats the story of the truck? why is there no sign of cladding ever being installed on the truck. do you have pics of the engine bay?

I think you'd make more $$$ parting that one out...I mean you already have all the cladding off. I'll buy the hood and grill if you decide to go that route. Looks more SonomaGT than SY.

$2K doesnt sounds bad, I mean with a bad engine, bad paint and all the cladding removed, I would never in a million years offer more than $3K on a project truck like that.

You will definitely get way more than 2k if you part it, but as it sits its probably not worth any more than 3k and that might be being a little generous. Just my opinion tho. I can come with over 2k in parts easily just by knowing what the parts are worth. Just another thought to ponder

i'll keep it out the grave yard but its gonna be a sleeper i aint puttin the cladding back on lol would u let me buy it?? for 2k ???? i'll c if i can get the funds

Please guy f the $, parting out car just isn't worth it.Find my a ty like this and we got a deal. Too bad my big ass dosent fit in a Sy or I would scoop this one up.

Keep us posted on what you decide to do. Hopefully you'll find a way to sell it to someone who intends to fix it rather than part it out. I know a few guys that might be interested for the right price. I may be one of them if I can find a second job...

I think the offer you received is in the ballpark given the truck's apparent condition. Good luck

I'm not a big fan of the parting of trucks either. I would rather see them driving then to see pieces for sale on the inernet. Unfortunately they are worth more in parts, plus the cost to repair it would be more than the truck is "worth" when it's finished. That's the only reason I suggest parting it. I would honestly love to see someone buy it up and take the time to fix it and enjoy it. I know what it costs do it, and I know what the parts are worth and its sad to say that if you have the time parting is the only way to not lose your head. :tdown:

Looking at it, that thing would make one helluva sleeper. Standard S10 bumper on the back and maybe some mudflaps with the chrome naked woman...They would never see it coming!!

IMO I would pay $2000-2500 for something like that. It doesn't mean that is the market, but it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it as well.

Thanks for the input peoples! I see what you're saying about parting it out...but I just hate to see it sale in pieces ya know? I'm sure that's the only way I'd make back even close to what I bought it for...but I can't see doing that. I think I'm going to throw the original wheels back on it anyways...cause I can use those Trans Am wheels. I'll try to get the VIN number and post it up tomorrow...and a pic of the engine bay too. Thanks again for the input...I really appreciate it. And I'll keep ya'll updated.

Well, I was trying to load some pictures of the engine bay and interior and all...but my computer is being ridiculous. So...all I can give is the VIN- 1GDCT14Z5M8802811. I'll keep working on loading the pictures. Also...I have a guy supposed to be coming to pick it up Sunday...but I'll keep everyone posted on what's going on. Thanks again for the input!

I have a guy supposed to be coming to pick it up this coming weekend. If something falls through with the buyer, I'll definitely post it.
