What kind of rims are these?

I've been looking at tons of Sy's and Ty's with custom rims and these two really caught my eye:

Anyone know what kind of wheels these are and what dimensions? I really like that "deep dish" look. Also, if you know who owns these trucks, I'd like to get in touch with them to find out more.

Thanks

Bdubb, you are right; they're Racing Hart C5 3-piece rims. They run about $2200 a set. I found them at http://www.wholehyper.com/r-hart-w.html for $471 each in 17 x 9.5" but they can probably be had for less if I look around. Very nice indeed.

I went to American Racing's web site and did not see any rims that resembled those on the Ty. That one definitely has the 11 inch rears with 315s. Budnik makes some really nice wheels too. I'm going to Photoshop some of those onto my Sy and see how they come out.

those green ones are by American Racing and are called "Le Mans" .. FYI the factory dont make them anymore.. i dunno why.. but i called to get a set for my 97 SS.. i know a guy with them on hi 99 TA.. looks F'n smooth.. yeah they came in 17x11's and 17x9's with correct back spacing.. hard as hell to find now.. let me know if anyone has seen them for sale..

FYI there is a Ty on autotrader.com .. red/red with the same wheels.

Thanks Bdubb, I'm going to have to pass on those now that I've had a better look. The Racing Harts are still on my list along with the '02 Camaro SS and Firehawk rims. The black Grand Sport rims are still potential candidates as well and they don't require spacers. Decisions, decisions...

Figured I had the same question differen't set of rims. While driving from work I encountered a Mercedes with rims that looked really unique. They were spinning counter clockwise, first I though wow illusion, then when we came to a stop, the rims kept spinning. Yes they kept spinning. There was an outer rim spinning freely. I tried looking for info on the web but have come up blank. By the look of the car and the quality of rims I expect these things cost a fortune.

Anyone know these??

Could I get Racing Hart 17 x 9.5" and just use the adapters in the rear like with the new F-Body wheels? What offset will I need front and rear? BTW, I've seen those spinning chrome 22" wheels and they run about $10K each! Only those with "deep pockets" need apply

Nullkalt, I've seen those wheels as well. There’s the main rim and on top is basically a spinning blade. I saw them at the international car show here in Tampa, Fl. They were on a new jaguar and looked to be like 18 or 19 inches. When I spun it by hand the thing kept spinning for like 10 min. I forgot the name of them but the price for them was some ungodly amount. Something like 10,000 if I'm not mistaken, maybe a little less. But still they looked nice.

Just got off the phone with a friend that said he only knows of 2 people that sell them. One is a local guy here in Michigan, and yes my friend said he thought they were about 10 grand, and I said per set? and he said, he didn't know, he thought they might be per rim. Said they were hand made by the guy here near Detroit.

Another friend said he saw a tv show that talked about the creation process for the rims.

Still searching.

There is a web site for them with a video of them on a black Expedition. It was posted here last Spring as I recall.

OK, I've decided on the rims I want and I'm 99% sure I won't change my mind. The same rims in the picture above are Racing Hart C5s and they look TIGHT!

racinghart_c5_wheel_2.jpg

Now I just have to figure out what offset and backspacing I'll need with the 17 x 9.5" rims on all 4 corners. They run about $500 each.

Mephisto

These trucks are cursed
i saw those spinning rims, last year at the LA auto show.

latrell spreewell (sp?) the basketball player that choked his coach... anyway...
he had a benz SL600, range rover, a diablo, a 360 modena, all these sick cars there, and had those rims on the benz and a couple other cars. i was talkin to a guy that was running his section at the car show, and he was saying that latrell has a black/black typhoon thats just sick, but he didnt bring it out for the show. who knows maybe this year he'll bring it out. itd be interesting to see if he's done any engine mods or go fast parts

i thought i read somwhere that Racing Hart said not to use them on these trucks, and or they didnt recommend it. i tired to look for the post, but couldnt find it. i belive it was jamie lopez that said that.

Bumble Bee Man, you know you just killed Jeremy's 99% confidence level. Good looking wheel. I can't imagine why there would be a problem stucturally if they're OK on the vette. It may be a offset limitation. If it comes in a +56mm for the front and a +24mm to +38mm for the rear you should be OK.

There's a custom wheel shop over in Milpitas about 20 minutes from me that sells Racing Hart wheels. I'm going to take the Sy over there and talk to them about it. If I have to have the rears custom made, then so be it. I only do occasional street racing so the 3-piece rims should hold up structurally. These Tenzo RS-5s look nice too but I don't think they have an application for GMCs...oh well.

those spinning wheel .... i know where to get them and who made them..

Latrell Spreewell of the New York Nicks has a race shop in LA

"Spreewell Racing".. he and his partners invented those.. and they are way expensive for a reason.. they only want true "playa's" to have them..

its located in the 310 area code.. and its where most of the lakers go to get their rides pimped out.. that and "310" customs.. but dont go there looking for a deal.. prices are about 400% increased..
