What is the difference between these two compass/temp sensors?

I was at the boneyard pulling these things out and i notced that the one on the left was a little different. It has an extra plug on it and the entire wire harness has different colors on it. Any idea's?

I think the one on the left interfaces with the ECM and provides MPG, Miles to empty, etc...

If your looking to sell it I would ebay it..

I wonder if we could use it with ours? I pulled it from a newer blazer with the rounder body.
