id love to have Vortecs on my sy too,but i have overported KB heads
Now for the cam history i think that a cam with 0,50 + lift and some 1,6 rockers will give some nice flow figures
If you got,or anyone else,the balls to rev over 5200-5300 rpm then crane cams has more agressive cams
ill stay with the 5000 rpm governor ........

Random other head question since we're kicking them around: how much difference in KR does going to aluminum heads make? Either the Vortec's or the L-35's? Or is most of the difference in the combustion chamber design as far as anti-knock goes?

alu heads are the solution for head detonation ! they transfer hear too damn quik and the chance of deto reduces A LOT
BUT they are F expencive

Dude you need to come check out my friend Bill's Ty. We ran a 12.7 @ 108 on only 18 psi of boost. When we get that sucker up to 24 psi (probably be a few more weeks) it should hopefully be able to break into the 11s. The motor is all stock with just bolt-ons.

ATR wastegate (seems to work ok but the base psi is only 10psi)
Walbro fuel pump + AFPR

9/11 converter + deep pan + tranny cooler + lockup switch
