What did you do to your SyTy today? (part 2)

Re: What did you do to your SyTy today? (part 2)

  • Pulled UnmolestedTy out of the yard and put it in the street.
  • Pulled GoodSy out of the garage, and put it where UnmolestedTy was.
  • Now that I could get in the shop, I retrieved and installed the wheels with new 275 and 315 tires on DesertSy.
  • Then put DesertSy on the ground, and rolled it out of the boat-port and put it on the lift so I can continue making progress on DesertSy.
  • Put GoodSy in the boat-port, and cat-proofed it with extra padding under the cover so the shop is clear for other projects for now.
  • Put UnmolestedTy back in its parking spot.

It was a good SyTy day. Won't be long before 3 of 3 are running.

Sounds like a good day. I can't wait to see good SY all buttoned up and remember if you ever need an extra hand don't hesitate to give me a call.

I spoke with my insurance company. Later today I am going to register it and get plates. Then go to NJ and get it so I can take it to the big NASTE meet

I just traded mine in for a new car. I was so sad to see it leave, my mom called me and almost started crying because she and my brother drove it back to Cali from Ohio and even she had memories in it. All my brothers called me and gave me the biggest guilt trips. I had so many hours and money put into it as well but I just needed a car that was better on gas.

Everyone always asks how happy I am with my new car and how much quieter and luxurious it is. I always reply that it has no heart and is like any other car on the road, just like a rental car.

Here she is at the dealership next to me new car.

Did you try to post it on this site first? If you had that much time, money, and love into it maybe giving it to a fellow member would have been better. I'm scared to ask what they gave you on the trade in. I don't think a dealership in new york will even think about taking a 18 year old car on trade, unless they give you 50 dollars and then charge it back on the new car....which is what they use to do back in the days, hahaha. Good luck with the new car!!

Ya, I did post but there wasn't much interest. It started to have more problems that I didn't have the time or money to invest.really the time more than anything. After everything they gave me about $7,300 for the trade in. They offered me $500 at first and I literally bargained back and forth for two hours. They really didn't want to take my car because of the age but tehy wanted to get rid of one of their cars more.

Coated the frame in the engine bay and starting to put it back together. Gonna see if I can beat Dave P putting his back together. Problem is that I need his help putting mine back together so that may make it a little hard from a racing standpoint!

LED interior lights. damn mirror lights were a grand ole time. but MUCH brighter now. Any ideas where to get a clear dome light cover? that solid white cover kills the light output.

also got a turbo blanket, gonna attempt that tomorrow.

Worked on the engine harness for DesertSy. It was really grimy and had a bunch of broken connectors. I started out by stripping the covering and tape, and washing it with simple green. When's the last time you had a harness in your kitchen sink?

Now to repair the issues, and re-cover it.

Sir when you are done we need to talk about that truck for sure I like what I see from the repairs you are doing.
