Added a 1" bead to the IC mouth so the twin alky nozzles don't push the hose off the outlet. Apparently the upgraded ICs are notorious for having small mouths. This helped immediately.

KEITH DID ALL THE WELDING AND MOST OF THE GRINDING. Happy Keith? :D

I strongly suggest you change the color of your upper intercooler to something lighter AND insulate the bottom, if you don't have plans to insulate it already. Leaving it black doesn't allow the intercooler to reflect any of the underhood heat. It is WORTH it.

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

The way I see it, the IC was always hotter than the surrounding engine so it radiated heat. The IC is upgraded and is cool to the touch after some long runs. I plan on running alky as well which should keep the IATs down.

I take your point though. I'll get round tuit at some point. What I will do as well is make some direct comparisons of IAT before and after painting with and without alky spraiying so we have a good idea of the benefits of this and can prove them empirically.

Continued to pull the motor... trying to find a machine shop to work with that fully understands the 4.3 turbo engine. I will continue to keep searching for the right shop....

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Photos to follow but...

Installed hardlines and a T fitting for the alky kit (twin nozzle setup)
Connected all the PCV hoses and clamped them down - was losing a tonne of air through them.
Took the truck out for a spin and did some boost launches - holy shit the GT35R spools up fast.

Spun all 4 and got it sideways on a launch - so much for the 0-60 in 4.3 in the rain!

Keith did the install/manufacturefor the hardlines

As an aside, I learned how to weld this evening! TIG =

Installed a new D&R Propshaft
Installed new CV Axles
Installed a full set of new Power Performance balljoints
Installed new brake pads
Flushed and replaced the brake fluid
Fresh fluids in the differentials

I got a new wideband to install and a new tune left to do still...

Installed alky pump on the custom mounting plate and hooked up the line to the nozzles.

Keith has helped me so much with this project.

In addition I took off the stock PS pulley and planned to sintall the aluminium March pulley. Unfortunately the snout was all fouled up so it looks like I have to remove the PS pulley, install a new one and replace it all. Great.

Did I mention I got it on halfway before finding this out?

Picked up an AEM wideband (retired from brother's tacoma), AEM fuel pressure gauge (also from the taco), parts for new turbo lines, a triple pillar pod and currently winning a bid on an AEM truboost. Should a fun week. Also got my turbo rebuild kit in the mail.

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Working on the FMIC. Hope to finish in a couple of days.

I decided that the core support was going to need to be cut for the tubing to be routed the way I would like them.

I just couldn't bring myself to cut up the origional core support. So I went to Pull-A-Part and got a core support to modify. I love that place.

So far the support has been cut for the tubing. The old support has been removed and the modded one sitting in place.

It looks like the cold air box is going to have to go. Also I'm gonna have to find places to mount the alky pump and the MSD box since they are in the way now. I have learned with these trucks. That if one thing is changed. Two or three other things have to be moved or changed for things to work right.
