Finished the front one on Sunday and backed it off the ramps and loud as fuck rear end noise. Pulled cover off last night ring and pinion are way gone and maybe one bearing. My buddy that has helped me with the front says we should pull the rear and then rebuild it any suggestions? Anybody got a pinion & gear layin around they want to sell? If so mmangan@sbcglobal.net

thanks

Ok I know someone has just a suggestion I told him I did not want to pull the entire rear end due to bleeding the brake system. I am worried that since my truck has 118K miles that the shit in the lines might get flushed into the ABS unit. I don't have the cash to go buy a new one of those. Anybody?

marc. you should have parted that thing out when you first got it, you would be money ahead. look at it this way, at least you will have a new rebuilt truck if you ever get done.

For $250.00 you can buy a 4.11 posi with discs and a 4 link off an F body. Bleeding the breaks is the easy part, just open the lines at the back and pump it dry. Probally could use some fresh fluid anyway. What's a bottle? $12.00 bucks?

well unfortunatly I don't have $250.00 bucks. I ordered a bearing kit from part store and found a set of 3.42's on car-part.com for $60. Can i do this with out pullin rear end and it be easy. Or will it be easier with the rear end out?
