This one's for the true ECM gurus...
Is there a piece of code in the ECM that will kill the motor if the truck is moving forward at, say, 5-10+ mph and the shift position sensor suddenly sees Reverse? I was driving to work and the little e-clip that holds the shift cable in place fell out. While the tranny actually stayed in Drive, the shifter might have moved into the reverse position at the center console. The result is that the truck died. It wasn't until I came to a complete stop that it fired back up and drove normally. I have since fixed the shift cable issue and drove it home without incident, but does anyone know if such a piece of code exists that would make it do that? Otherwise, I need to look around as to why my truck wants to die sporadically.
Thanks for the help.
