weird PLX issue

Quickstop [UK]

Combating adversyty.
Today I tried to install a PLX DM-6 multi gauge with a PLX 5M-AFR Boost gauge and the wideband O2 gauge as well.

The wideband was ok - it started, the gauge booted up and it read the AFR ok but the boost sensor and gauge combo wouldn't work.

Each module has a 4 pin MOLEX connector. The connections are:

Top left = 3.3v out to the guage (Both modules), Top right = NB output to ECM (AFR)/ no output (boost module)
Bottom left = Ground, bottom right = wideband output to ECM (AFR) / no output (boost module)

We tried the module in another truck and it works ok and the module from that truck didn't work in the truck I was working on.

The only thing I can think is that the boost module has to have a GND (bottom left on the MOLEX) tied in to GND on the ECM (B9) but that seems odd as there is already a ground through the power output and the wideband works ok using a chassis ground. We ran out of time and didn't have any wire to make a GND lead so left it for the day.

The PLX install thread that Good Ian (SyTyArchives) wrote had a GND from the module to the ECM (B9) but the gauge already came with a molex connector with the +VE and GND already wired to it. I guess that means that certain modules have to be in order.

There is also a terminal jumper block on the modules and we tried removing them in different sequences. Basically, in no combo did the gauge work with the boost module but the AFR module worked fine.

Has anyone else run across this?
