weird drop in boost

i need some sort of insight as to what may be causing this scenario. stock everything except for 3' catback and cold air intake.
the other day im driving to tx2k13 and decide to have a little fun on the highway. i get it up to about 100 and it starts to feel like it just fell on its face. let off the gas and then gradually got back on and all seems fine. then this afternoon while coming home i decide to try again and this time the same thing except i notice that i only hit about 11 or 12 lbs of boost at about 100 and it feels like there is a governor on the engine and turbo.
if this is a common occurance is there something i can do about it. is it some sort of safety feature that GM put in the computers. down rite annoying if you ask me. i have datamaster but didnt have it hooked up at the time. if need be i can hook it up and make another pass when the time permits.

When the engine is knocking it pulls timing & that will reduce boost & make the engine loose a lot of power.

Do you have datamaster, something to watch for knock retard?

Might be running out of fuel?

Stock fuel pump? Clogged fuel filter?

yeah i know there are tons of variables when it comes to this sort of thing. i have datamaster but havent really used it, so i am still learning how to use it correctly and what to look for.
i can rerun with the datamaster hooked up and record the run and see if someone can shed some light on this. i know the truck has more in it than that and i just want to see it to its fullest potential.
guess i get to do a few maintenance issues this weekend also. will post when done

sorry for such a late reply on this, but i live closer to san antonio or austin. i should have had my datamaster hooked up earlier this evening. took it for another run and at about 13lbs and 100mph it just started loosing power still. now i havent had a chance to change out the filter or replace the pump. all due to lack of time and funds at the moment. i may be able to check out a few things this weekend and try to post up a dm run so you can see what is happening.

You could be hitting the top of third, if it cuts out and then goes again. As well as letting of the gas for a second, letting it shift, and then slowly going 1/2-3/4-WOT and you can get past 100mph.

Lots of trucks wont shift to OD at WOT for what ever reason, rebuilt trans, high miles.
