Weird bolt size question

What is the CORRECT bolt size for the two bolts that hold the oil cooler lines to the block adapter and oil filter?

SAE? Coarse for sure but 3/8"?

Metric? Dia? Pitch? Length?

I know 3/8 coarse and certain metric are very close.

I'm asking because I just don't like the way things are tightening up. I can just tell something ain't quite correct. :roll:

Odd I know, but thanks.

Re: Weird bolt size question

This is what I came up with..please correct me if I'm wrong. I believe these 2 bolts have a torx head? hope this helps?:)

Bolt =8mm=5/16
Bolt length = 3"
Pitch 1.5mm
Length of actual thread = 22mm ( a hair under 7/8")

Re: Weird bolt size question

Assuming you are talking about the single bolt at either end of the remote oil lines, it's M10 x 1.5, 35mm, PN14056165.

Re: Weird bolt size question

Double check torque of those bolts when reassembling, they stretch easily. I got mixed up in the service manual about which oil lines bolt torque specs were which and had to buy a new set of those long bolts.

I love this , 8mm does not equal 5/16" , just like 13mm does not equal 1/2 inch , or 14mm equals 9/16".. they will work in wrenches but they are not EQUAL...... sorry , I listen to this all day..... lol

No worries. Live and learn as the old saying goes. I wouldn't call it a f*&$ up though. Just an honest piece of misinformation that is now fixed.
