Is there any dark waxes for black vehicles that hides imperfections ect.? Whats the best? Had the truck wheeled and want to go over it with some stuff that will hide any imperfections that didn't come out too well? I don't want to cut the paint again either

Here are some products I found online. Any experiences?

This is from topoftheline products

I want to take the Syclone down to the Autorama this year again...maybe and I am looking for the best wax to hide imperfections.

What kind of imperfections are you talking about? I like to use a polishing glaze applied with a foam pan and a variable speed buffer before applying wax. My experience with colored waxes are is they don't do a very good job except stain you fingers.

any wax should [ if applied right ] fill in any light scratches. It's all in how it is applied and removed.

3M products are a good choice for cleaning up dead paint. Following through with the ever-so-popular ZAINO bros. should make your paint dance.

Fergans NAPA off Gratiot on 9 mile would be your closest dealer for 3M.

On the hood there was a minor wheel mark, and I just want something that REALLY brings out the color and makes it deep. I don't want to cut the truck or use polish, because I know the trucks have a light paint coat from the factory. Just want something to coat nicely and cover any swirls or wheel marks. It really isn't bad at all but black shows ever thing.....

Smaug, thats its just called s-100? Does it have a cut?

I am a reformed Zaino fanatic, still good stuff, I but I found even better, for black and my Syclone. First of all, I use a Porter Cable D/A Buffer to apply products, if is very safe so long as you buy the correct pads and know what you are doing. It will not leave any swirl marks when you use the right products and know what you are doing. I use the Wolfgang Souveran set up you can buy here: http://www.autogeek.com/ag_CarCare.asp I use Clear Kote Vanilla Moose Glaze on the factory stock unpainted cladding and it still looks like brand new. It is a little time consuming to do it the right way in steps .... wash, clay, pre-glaze, glaze, wax, sealant, but the results speak for themselves.... (this is my factory original paint/cladding)

And in the rare occassion when I need to use something with a MINOR cutting agent, I use Poorboys EXP

autorama hmmm You might have some competition this year, 2.5 years and frame off :D

Well I don't go there to win, and judging in the "s-series and 4x4 class" is a joke. Unless you are going for the "Riddler" award, they don't really pay too much attention. So in all reality I go there for the people I see and meet.

You sure you'll have your truck done by then? What exactly are you doing to it besides paint and powdercoated frame?

What's a cutting agent?

tiny abrasive particles in some waxes or glazes which help remove a minute layer of paint/clear to remove swirls, surface scratches, micromarring, etc. what some people call "Buffing Compound" like 3M Perfect It II, etc.
