Bolt it to a loose head and weld it. There is an 'art' to welding cast iron so it won't crack adjacent to the weld, so be sure the guy doing it knows what he's doing. Pre-heating the part prior to welding is an important step in the process. That was my plan for the crack if it had gotten bad enough to worry about.
My neighbor is an industrial heavy equipment welder. He said it is definitely time consuming to do it correctly. Apparently he has done several non syty cast manifolds over the years.
He said the process is
Groove out the crack.
Clamp to a fixture or bolt it to the block.
Heat the cast to glowing red… almost white. weld a small bead with a special rod for cast.
Let cool to worm.
ping the weld worm, then let cool.
Then repeat the process until done. Should take 4 or five welds and a day to do it.
