want tranny cooler like HuRyde recommendation

really ddidnt want to ride daily driver without a spare. wonder if theres room in front of rear differential above or to the side of the driveshaft.
this is gonna be like everything else, screw that I'll make the sob fit.

I wouldn't mount it inline with the driveshaft and on the other side you have the exhaust which gets REALLY hot.

I didn't want to run without a spare also. But if you have AAA or any other insurance with towing it kind of makes having a spare unnecessary.

I understand. Its just that in 12 years of owning this truck i have come to the realization that my stock rims came with the optional HIGH POWERED NAIL & SCREW MAGNET. I'll find a way to make it fit.

Yup, I run a cover. I ventilated the front bed wall here. My cooler's by Derale and cost $145 w/fan. It's 2 sandwiched 6pass coolers 12"x14". I didn't want to risk it under the bed, and pulling air from the bottom of the truck with the cooler in the bed doesn't offer much rock protection. Here it pulls from the space inbetween the bed and cab. I don't race with the tailgate on, so venting should be no problem.

Ed, I mounted mine behind the stock CCHE and then installed a pair of 7 inch spal fans. That a deraile pan.

Personally, I'd rather be able to drop the spare down and throw it on, instead of waiting two hours to have AAA come tow it, and probably screw something else up in the process.

I looked at putting one under the bed too. Might still I guess, I dunno. I was looking at putting one between the frame rail and the side of the bed, like opposite the fuel filler neck, but lower.

Or you could do a two-for-one deal, and make a huge ricer spoiler out of it. Then your wing would actually do something. You'd need carbon fiber lines to run to it though.

You guys that bypassed the radiator, have you installed a tranny fluid guage? does the tranny run hotter? I've been interested in this.

I have had 1 flat (I know I'm dooming myself after this statement) in the eleventy billion miles I have driven.
Doesn't really make sense either for something that doesn't get driven daily (not at all right now).

I have a hard tonneau cover, so I could keep it under there, but I plan on tossing the stock tank and install a 20 gal. fuel cell, so I'm not quite sure the spare would even fit under the tonneau after that.

I put a gauge in the pan near where the pump dumps fluid. My tranny has a 13 vein pump and has been modified to flow better and various other things to help out. The gauge is mounted in a cast alumn TCI pan and only see's about 140* with average use. Havent had it to the track to see what it would be like under harsh conditions. This is with the cooler I listed above with the fan off. I have a fan but don't need it. The cooler is about 1.75 inches from the bottom of the bed. HTH
