i will be curious to see what numbers you put down with stock heads. what boost and fuel do you plan to run? pump and alky or race and alky? and no ic?

Re: VRE Project 10sec Typhoon

Looks good, I like how it appears stock on the outside and has a beast for an engine.

Also curious how the no I/C is working out for you, I've actually considered this idea alot, but never got to it. What's your IAT's usually run?

Re: VRE Project 10sec Typhoon

How much horse you plan on putting down, gennerally 1 alky/meth injector is good for around 400 hp. Also it is shooting straight acroos pipe should be angled toward throttle body for best flow and performance. Anxious to see how you do with tuning the stock computer for 10's.

Hopefully i will be in the 10's by Nov with race gas/ pump & meth with GT35R and 20-24lbs of boost. Just have to wait until we have our track rental on Nov 27th.

Good Luck!

there is a 90 elbow inside the pipe and as far as the stock computer goes im going to try it and if it dosent work ill goto bigstuff 3 and a race water to air intercooler

I Likey alot!!!! Looks great man all buisness! Im using C116 and meth with an intercooler. Your going to need alot of meth volume for cooling, 2 lines min. Its going to take some serious tuning skills to run with no intercooler & just meth. Its hard enough with stock heads to tune out the knock. Awsome build post some videos Ralph and i are board looking at each others videos.

Re: VRE Project 10sec Typhoon

Theres already a few 10 second sytys with the factory computer . No need to jump towards the bigstuff if you dont run 10s the first couple of pulls . Your tune on stock heads with no i/c and lots of meth , will be completely different than w2a i/c & vortecs . Push the limits of what you have before swapping over . When you do ,tunning it will be like starting from square one again .

It should be fast either way , and thats all that really matters .What nx kit did you go with ? I too want to spray my sy and have been looking at diff kits lately .

Re: VRE Project 10sec Typhoon

well im looking into big air to water intercoolers and that looks like the way to go im going to take it this weekend for some shakedown passes at 20 psi and see how it does but any input i can get from people on the boards is good too like some info on peoples setups and what the trucks run

Re: VRE Project 10sec Typhoon

We have been street tuning the truck as well as making some shake down passes for the last few weekends. We are planning to put it on the dyno either Tuesday or Thursday after work.

Re: VRE Project 10sec Typhoon

Are those stock exhaust manifolds? If so, what'd you do to them to push the turbo up and angled like that?

It looks like a small connecting fixture in between the stock header flange and the turbo where the wastegate outlet is as well.

I like how you did the firewall. What did you do to cover up the A/C / blower motor holes??
