going to the track tonite i saw this vw that had an interesting lisence plate
"suveater". now i dont know about you guys but that is an invitation to me.
so i got through traffic and pulled next to him on the highway and started messing with him. the guy had the back full of camping gear and his family so he didnt race, which sucks. i am sure he forgot about ty' s when he made those plates.

that VW wagon will actually beat almost every SUV out there. except for the ty or exotic SUVs. it should be 0-60 in like high 6's

around here? im sure ill see quite alot of them... ive seen a couple of the amg suvs, and the BMW suvs are everywhere, not to mention tons of escalades and some hummers. people around have cash without a doubt, if theyre gonna blow the money on a BMW suv, theyll buy the porsche.

only thing is, its all old people that drive em, so no one ever plays. theres tons of S4s, Z06s, porsches, ferraris etc etc etc around here but theyre all too "high class" to play with a lil Sonoma. so no races for me.
thanks for the lesson on this new wagon though... any distinguishing markings on it thatll let me know its the quick one?

One of the fastest cars in Dallas right now is a Black VW Passat. NO ONE knows what has been done to this car, but alot of people know the car. He runs the Goerge Bush or N dallas tollways on tue nights and wed mornings. Worked over vipers and ZO6's are among his kill list. There is a rumor that a TNT stroked Viper beat him (those are about 850- 900hp). I dont think I believe it though. This VW will launch from 60mph like I do off the line.

He kicked my ass "bad" while laughing at me in the window. Not to brag or anything but I have a pretty fast truck. This guy highway runs only. Also I hear he backs off at about 160mph or so. Rumor is that he is running a twin turbo and all wheel drive. I couldnt tell if it was a 4 motion or not all badges are removed except the VW badge.

I doubt that wagon was as bad but if it was that would be a hard kick in the D*ick. IT HURTS!

I hate it when you spend time writing a post and it doesn't make it through....

I was saying before that it wouldn't be that hard as everything VW/Audi does is plug and play between models and car-lines. All you'd have to do is drop in a worked over 2.7 TT V-6 from an S4 in there with some bigger turbos and you're pushing 400-450hp. But you said he was only doing highway running so that tells me he's only FWD. But AWD isn't inconceivable nor is that 160mph figure. (sidebar: my 4cyl 98 Accord did 137 on the autobahn)

Yeah thats what most of us down here think. Aerodynamicaly that is a pretty clean car. With a hot motor serious top end could be done with it. Ive run him from 80mph punch and it wasnt even remotely close. IMO he is deadliest from 70-150mph that seems to be were he wants to run the most. He is an older guy probably late 40's or so.

I live in Westminster MD, about 15 minutes from EIP tuning. EIP is know exclusively for their VW work. The owner has a late model GTI that i have watched put over 900 horsepower on the dyno. They mostly do the VR6 engine, always turbo'd. I know a couple guys that are making almost 500 to the wheels on stock bottom ends (everything else is worked of course). They are in heavy with Electromotive, the makers of Tech engine management, and spend many hours on that dyno.
Atomic Atmosphere is a shop in the DC area that does Supra's and 3000 GTs (i belive they have an awd dyno :D ) and they challenged EIP with one of there "1000 hp" supras. Bad Move! Rich (owner of EIP) destroyed that car with his GTI (from a roll of course) Im not sure which one left more rubber though. Rich's GTI has since been "converted" to an awd setup and is absolutly scary when it stays in one piece ( which it hasnt done yet). It now sits in their shop broke waiting on some special stuff coming strait from Germany as the rumor goes (Rich isnt talking  )
Moral of Story... Dont doubt the VW's
