I know search first but everything that i see is 65 and up. I have a vibrition in all gears. It starts at 20 MPH and just gets worse as I pick up speed. I even put it in nutrul and the vibration is still there. Where should I begin to look.

Re: vibration

try crank shaft pulley/harmonic balancer. had '96 pimpala that did the same thing. couldn't drive it on the highway only on city streets. motor still turns in neutral so maybe that is why you still feel vibrations? hope this helps.

Prop shaft if it is stock. Try taking that out and take it for a spin to see if the vibration is still there.

Re: vibration

No the propshaft is aftermarket from checkers. I put it in last night and that is when the vibration started to happen.

I would check the u-joints and make sure they are not binding, and second you shouldnt put the trans in neutral while driving. There was a post a while back from a very good trans guy and he said you can damage the trans. And have you done anythign else besides the driveshaft?

The yoke on the T-case should there be any play on it. Mine moves 1/8 of and inch in all directions.

Re: vibration

If your problem stated after shaft install, then i would say that is your problem.
Check to make sure the u joints are in all the way around, could be on one of the ears. If thats ok, then the balance of the shaft is off.

Re: vibration

One more thing to check is the length of the driveshaft. If it is longer you will have problems.

Re: vibration

you might try removing the and reinstalling it rotated 90 degrees. it's something about u-joint sync.

Re: vibration

Well when I got the Ty it did not have a frint driveshaft on it. We put the ty on a lift last night and we took off the rear driveshaft to see if the vibrition was still there and when the slip yoke came out of the back of the T-case metallic fluid came out and it still had the vibration. So I dont know could a bearing have gone out in the T-case and cause this problem?
