I still get a vibration at 60+ MPH

I have replaced: ( They all needed to be replaced anyways)
Rims and tires
Idler arm
Propshaft
U-Joints on the drive shaft

This vibration comes and goes randomly ( I mean the vibration it is triggered at, 60, 70 MPH etc)

Router seems to be fine smooth... Car doesn't get pulled in a weird direction.

Any other ideas?

Wheel bearings? Jack up the truck at the a-arms, not frame. Hands @ 12 and 6, check for free play. Found I've got a bad bearing that causes the same symptoms on my Ty. HTH

Bele Tire and Discount Tire both said they were fine. But I'll check them again >.>

Don't forget, they're spring-loaded. Apparently that sneaks by some people who should know better (Discount Tire, etc.).

Made someone follow me on the high way. My front driver side tire is bouncing up and down badly.

Lets hope its cheaper then a transfer case >.>

Perhaps the problem is torque shudder. The clutch area on the 700r4 are barely enough on a stock newer truck, and when its under strain at speeds between 55-80mph area its not uncommen to get a shudder that comes and goes under what seems as random conditions. This happens as the torque converter is trying to lock up.

Dont think this makes the tire jump tough, but if a wheel balance doesnt help maybay this is it..

try switching the front tires side to side. it might help narrow it down

Re: Vibration problems >.>

I've had this problem in a few different cars.. not syty's but it still holds true on them.

Check your pinion angle of the rear drive shaft... sometimes when the truck has been lowered without the stock wedge, the pinion angle will be off enough to cause high speed vibrations. Some people have the problem and others say they don't but it's worth checking out.

I seem to have the same problem so I balanced the wheels and tires which helped correct some of the vibration. I'm going to verify pinion angle since the truck is lowered and go from there. I'll post back with what I find since the vibration is triggered around 65 mph. I know there's new shocks on the rear but not the front.

Shocks were old and warn out.

Replaced them and my car doesn't feel like its going to fall apart any more... but I still get a vibration.

The vibration seems to switch from tire to tire.

Example:

My driver side door will vibrate and then it will stop and my seat will start to vibrate or it will swich to my passenger side door.

Seems to shake when pulling around corners as well.

This is all when I hit about 55 MPH+

Some times the vibration disappears for a short while ....

Whats next to check?

its a 17 year old GM vehicle its gonna shake vibrate and rattle if you dont feel it in in steering wheel probably not much you can do

Re: Vibration problems >.>

Well when it hits my driver side it kinda feels like my door is going to shake off... and when its my driver side my steering wheel does shake.

And when I steer around corners my steering wheel does vibrate.

It just feels strange and makes me worry since it comes and goes.

Feels like as AWD switches from tire to tire each one shakes... my driver side getting the worst of it.

Don't know if this is possible. But it doesn't feel normal...

Re: Vibration problems >.>

who did the alignment? does the truck pull to one side when you give it gas?

Alignment was done with the old rims from my mechanic who stated one of my rims were wrapped... Took it to Bele Tire and they stated the same thing so I bought new tires and through them on some old blazer rims I picked up from a friend. Also my lower ball joints were shot so they had to sheer them off and get me new ones.

The truck doesn't pull in any direction.

But the vibration gets worse the faster I go. Doesn't matter if I am accelerating or maintaining my speed.

Remove front prop shaft.Could be transfer case clutch locking up

Probably my next guess would be the transfer case.... I did break my prop shaft but the issue was there before it broke it...

PS I want that as my bumper sticker >.>

check to see if the drive shaft yoke where it slides into the T-case has any movement up and down. there should be a tad bit of play there not much. if there is excessive movement you need to replace the bushing inside of the tailshaft section.

That's a tire balance issue. They are not setting the wheel up correctly on the balancer.
