Update on Napa Halfshaft

Just alittle update on the halfshaft from Napa which I had installed a week or so ago. What I noticed was that the inner boot was rubbing on the shock. I noticed that the distance between the two boots on the Napa shaft was 2" and on the original shaft was 3" so more clearance. I removed the metal band clamp and slid the boot over and now it doesn't rub and I used a hose clamp to secure.
Looking at the original halfshaft, I noticed that there is a groove around the shaft right where the boots are secured and you can see this groove. On the Napa shaft they had the boots covering this groove so maybe when GM originally had these shafts installed, they knew the Sy/Ty's would be lower in the front and moved the boots outward from each other to alllow clearance so it wouldn't rub on the shocks and tear the boots.
