I say go for it depending on how good your truck runs. If its a hundred percent tune up, vacuum lines, and drivetrain wise I say it would be a nice run. He should'nt be able to leave anywhere near you on street tires. Just my two cents.
BTW what year is the lightning?

. I am guessing you will trounce on him outta the hole. As has been said, if your truck is running spot on, he won't pass you in the 1/4. The 01-04's run great BUT they have too much HP and the rear is too light to make them a threat from a stop. Let us know how bad you beat him....

Go for it, but race him from a dead stop. I was out a few weeks ago with my friend who has a 11-second Lighting and from a 60mph roll I can't keep up with him. But I caught him at a red light on the way home and beat him off the line until about 60 and then he caught up.

Sounds great everyone, If he shows up, I'll race. Your all right, NEVER BACK DOWN. The truck is running GREAT. My datamaster logs look good. It would be awsome to get a lightning on my first race. Wish me LUCK! and Thanks all for the confidence boost.

If your Ty runs right and you know how to drive it you wont have any problems. Only race him from a stop. Never race from a roll.
