U-joints vs. V-Coupling

I am picking up a Sy this friday, and the truck has U-Joints up fron instead of the Vicious coupling. Now to the best of my knowledge, the V-coupling doesn't transfer power to the front until the front wheels start moving, so... Does a truck with U-Joints up front launch better than ones with the Vicious coupling?

I'd study our drivetrain a bit more, as you are confused.

The front "propshaft" has nothing to do with torque split. I suspect it has been upgraded to gilbert or similar.

The torque split is within the transfer case, which no other easy option exists for our trucks.

Well i havent taken delivery of the truck yet, but when i do, i will go over it, the current owner said he has a upgraded GM front shaft with U-joints, so whether he knows what hes talking about or what, i dont know as of yet.

He probably meant that he upgraded the front propshaft from the OEM style cv joint to an aftermarket/ Gilbert driveline style U joint setup.
No difference in drivability or launching, just a reliability improvement.

The VC, viscous coupler is inside the transfercase and cannot be modded or serviced.

The stock front driveshaft(propshaft) has a CV joint up front instead of a U joint.. Many of the aftermarked front driveshafts replace the CV joint with a U joint.. Thats what he is talking about.. Like Jeff said it has nothing to do with the transfer case and/or the Vicious coupling.
